Aaaahahahah I just wrote one and deleted it before I posted it. It was just on the nightly news :-p

ETA – I wish people on my news feed were talking about it!!! I would totally comment on it.

People are talking about a chicken restaurant? I’m so confused.

Actually, I’m grateful because it’s totally letting me know about all the homophobes I need to delete!

No Chik-fil-a anywhere near me, so not a single one of my friends is talking about it. Though I do have friends all over the place, so I’m a bit surprised by that.

@KatyElle:  Do you just mean people who are not anti-CFA? Because I’m pro-gay rights, but nothing can make me not eat there!

I am so very sick of it.  I’ve been avoiding Facebook all week so I don’t scream.

Here’s a fun story for you though:  My younger brother is gay.  My very Catholic parents do not approve.  I fully support my sibling, and used to live with him and his partner of 5+ years.  They are great guys.  I got this gem in my email inbox this afternoon from my mom (sent to me, and a few of my aunts and uncles):

“Hi Everyone!!

Just wanted to say that I hope everyone is able to make it to Chick-Fil-A today in order to show our support for traditional marriage.
Hope everyone is doing okay…”

I’d really love to send something snarky back….but alas, they’re my parents.  Even from 2500 miles away I’m still feeeling annoyed by it, though.  WE DON’T EVEN HAVE CHICK-FIL-A’s WHERE I LIVE, MOM!!!!  Sorry….had to get that rant out…. (*grumble, grumble*)

@redheadem:  No, I mean people that are blatantly posting stupid anti gay propaganda all over my news feed.

Ah I agree, but BOTH sides of my FB friends are driving me nuts. We get it, you feel strongly one way or another about it. One timely post is surely sufficient.

Living in the South amplifies this times a million. This was BLOWN UP all over my news feed. I typically hate when people make really overt statements on their beliefs (be it religion, politics, whatever). But I honestly felt if I said anything to the contrary today, I would get bullied over it. It’s sick to see people that I thought highly of actively doing things to persecute fellow Americans. I was so disappointed.
And this “it’s about free speech” thing? That’s like people saying the Civil War was over states’ rights.

I thought about posting this today just to show that boycotts happen ALL THE TIME:http://www.christianpost.com/news/nom-launches-boycott-of-starbucks-over-same-sex-marriage-stance-72006/

Someone sent me an email today saying “Don’t you want to celebrate your marriage by going to Chick-Fil-A today?” I felt so dirty to get that e-mail. Actively trying to deny someone of a marriage does not somehow make your straight marriage more valid.

Ugh.
