Soo, I’m still waiting for AF. I’m 18 DPO today and my temp has risen 3 days in a row!
Everything I’ve read says 18DPO = Pregnant. Well, I had a BFN @ 14DPO. When my temp rose this morning, I decided to test again. A ClearBlue and a pink dye test Darling Husband brought me back from his trip. BFN both times.
So, what’s the deal? Did I maybe not ovulate? My temp differences aren’t huge, could they be erroneous?
Of course, being the nutjob that I am, I read about women who have been pregnant and not gotten a positive HPT for months. But no one seems to have an explanation for why that happens or how often it actually occurs.
Darling Husband insists that there’s nothing wrong and we’re probably not KU – it’s just a fluke. TCOYF and pretty much everything else I’ve ever read has been really straightforward about the 18 day rule.
So What would you do? The way I see it I have the following options:
A) Try to get in to get a blood test. I’ve found 2 clinics that *might* be able to do it. The earliest I could probably do this though is Thursday afternoon. I get to leave the office a little early that day so could probably make it before they close for the weekend.
B) E-mail my Mother-In-Law my chart and see what she thinks. My Mother-In-Law and I get along really well, but I wouldn’t say we’re super close. HOWEVER, I know that she’s a very good nurse AND she used FAM for 20+ years. She might have really good insight. But this also means that she’d figure out we’re NTNT/TTC and/or open our life up for commentary. Not saying she would have annoying comments since she’s sometimes very good at that, but she randomly surprises me with what freaks her out.

I would try to get the blood test and leave Mother-In-Law out of it, but that’s me giving an answer as though we are talking about MY Mother-In-Law not yours. Still though, I don’t think I would want my Mother-In-Law to find out that we might be expecting that way, better to be able to tell her when you know for sure :).
Your chart looks lovely though! I would try and get the blood test or wait it out and keep POAS. A friend of mine had actually booked and appointment to see her doctor because she thought she had a problem when 2 full weeks after AF was due she was still getting BFN. Sure enough the test finally came back positive. Some people don’t register a BFP for a long time for some reason. Good luck!

@Mrs.LemonDrop: I agree with @MrsSawyer: Try to get a blood test, and leave Mother-In-Law out of it. Good luck love!

I’m with the other ladies; blood test! The suspense is killing me!

@Mrs.LemonDrop: Your pre-O temps are not very consistent and while you marked EWCM I wonder if some the CM following your predicted O could also be EWCM. I suspect you ovulated later than you think but I would still say to schedule the blood test to be sure.

Yep, blood test and keep Mother-In-Law out of it. It’s none of her business.

I clicked on here from main boards/engaged fairy tale nightmare magic land…. And oh my goodness you Ttc ladies have impressive skills with the acronyms! It’s like another language!
So, I couldn’t really read a lot of this… But… Congratulations I think, it is pretty suspenseful, and you should relish that.. Those pins and needles can be awesomE. and hooray. And don’t send stuff to the Mother-In-Law.

The best your Mother-In-Law can probably tell you is that your chart looks normal for X sitiation, but you need a doctor to confirm it.
Might as well skip the middlewoman and go straight to the doctor.
Taking 0 date out of the equation (and the chart) how many days late would you be? Also, how regular are you?

Thanks guys. I think I’m with you all. I really don’t want anyone to know, even if we do find out we’re expecting. I’ve always pictured myself the “tell them as late as we can manage” type. Heck, we didn’t even invite our parents to the wedding!
Ok, I called and the clinic they said they can do a blood test. My appointment is Thursday at 3:00pm, assuming AF does not show up. I HIGHLY doubt I will hear back before Saturday or so, but I will definitely keep you guys posted!
@Quickiebee: Haha, I’m sorry! The acronyms are crazy, I learned them really slowly over time and now I forget how loony it all sounds. You’re always welcome to take a break from wedding planning fairtale nightmare land with us! ; )

Hmmmm I wonder if you maybe O’ed later than you thought? I think I remember that you never got a positive OPK, right? Like maybe you O’ed on CD 23 instead?? I’m not that good at this stuff, though. Have you showed your chart to the charters?
@AstoriaK: It has definitely crossed my mind. I didn’t get a positive opk, but apparently I should have been testing in the evening or every 12 hours, which was news to me. I also skipped a day thinking that the “fade in” would take more time than one day, which is also apparently not necessarily true. So I guess my shoddy OPK use can’t quite tell me much of anything.
I also thought day 15 was a possibility, but I had gone out to dinner with Darling Husband and had a few drinks that day so I chalked the high temp up to that and nearly threw it out. (Which, another night that I drank, the temp was almost identical the next day).
I showed it to the charters, but no one seems sure. We’ll see how the next few days go. ; )

@Mrs.LemonDrop: So strange. I just hope it ends in a BFP for you!! Glad to see that you are getting the blood test done so at least you will know what is going on!

Definitely keep Mother-In-Law out of it and get a blood test if you can. Your chart looks pretty positive!

Glad you booked the blood test. I’m calling pregnant on this one. FX!

I think you O’d later than you think. What are your cycles normally like and are you actually late for your period yet?
