GO FOR THE BIG PUFFY! have you tried them on? I never thought about wedding dresses until I got engaged so I had no idea… I went and tried on 3 dresses total… one mermaid with lots of bling!.. and then two really alike puffy with lace on the bottom….. of course I went for mermaid bling! lol IM a little out there.. but i kept thinking of that puffy dress…. so I went back tried the puffy with lace.. and I couldnt take it off… kept thinking this is what my dad would want me to wear. what I want to wear down the isle…. lucky and spoiled me I was able to get both… I had the traditional puffy dress.. then changed into my more sexy blinged out one after our first dance!…. if you don want the floor lenght, the ankle cut with a little umph! puff! look is super pretty, very classic.

Go for it!  I’m marrying this fall in a casual cocktail and dessert outdoor party.  I pretty much expect my guests to show up in shorts and sandals.  I will be wearing a giant tulle monster dress that is way over the top for the casual event we are having.  And: I don’t care! πŸ™‚  I will never have a reason to wear a dress that is the size of a cloud again!  And I tried on several alternatives, but it wasn’t until I tried on giant tulle monster dresses that I felt like a bride, beautiful, and mostly, like ‘me.’  Try some on, and if you feel it, do it!

As a side note, look at some layered organza too….still lightweight and frisky!

@Lindarella:  There are no rules when it comes to what you want to wear for your wedding!

Also – maybe my favourite post title I’ve ever seen πŸ™‚

You only get married once.  Wear whatever you want πŸ™‚  I personally think tulle at outdoor weddings is so cute.  There are great compromises though.

@Quickiebee:  No cage! Let that inner princess out! πŸ™‚ Float on your cloud! Give yourself permission to do so. I don’t care if you’re getting married in a CLOSET! Get your poofy dress on!!!!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It is good to try on the opposite of what you would usually choose. Brides often surprise themselves with this strategy. Go for it!

You should wear what you absolutely love! You are the star of the show- you can’t look out of place and there is pretty much no such thing as an inappropriate dress:)

Like other PP’s I say go for it!  It’s your day, where whatever dress you want.  Don’t worry about changing it to ‘fit’ your site.
