Say what you will, I love Valentine’s Day. I always have. Even durning my “who-needs-boys-love-is-for-losers” high school phase. (Which was a charade I might add. I’ve always been the hopeless romanitc kind) Anyway, I was very excited for this year. Last year, we didn’t have much money, so I didn’t get to do the day up as I would like. This year, we still don’t have a lot of money (especially with the wedding coming up) but we have enough that I could do something!
I found this idea on here kind of, and just ran with it. I made Fiance a basket all about him. So last night I went to wal-mart (no foresight there, wally world the day before a holiday is never good) and spent a couple of hours picking out the parts to his gift. Then I went to the school that we both work at and put it together and left it in his classroom!
Here are some pictures.
A composition book “for novel ideas ;)” (he wants to write a book)
Silly putty because he’s “so silly”
Pistachios because he’s “nutty and I love it!” (his favorite snack too)
Green Lantern cup because he’s “my hero” (his favorite super hero)
Glow sticks and a candle because he “lights up my life”
Candy because he’s “so sweet”
And the new book he wants just “to see him smile”
All in a purple (his favorite color) bin with purple decorations!
Just had to share. I was too excited!!
Now to keep the kids in his class away from the candy….

That’s so cute (: I had plans for gifts to mail to my SO, but then he got sent out of the country to India for the entire month of February soooo I kinda had to nix all of that. However, I came home last night to a BIG surprise from him:

Love your gift, super thoughtful and sweet! I LOVE Valentine’s Day too and always have so I know exactly what you mean! Even when I didn’t have someone to share it with my parents always made me feel special with Valentine’s Day gifts. They still send me cards and this year was chocolate covered strawberries 🙂 Always makes me feel so loved and happy.
I bought His and Her coffee mugs for Fiance and then made breakfast in the shape of I (ham) heart (eggs) and U (toast) for him. It was a nice way to start our day 🙂
Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s Day full of lots of love!

I love Valentine’s Day too! I think it’s more annoying seeing all the people posting on FB about how commercial/cheesy/awful V-day is, than it is to see all the people on FB posting about the sweet things their Valentine did for them. There is nothing wrong with a holiday that is all about celebrating LOVE 🙂

I love Valentine’s Day too and I was single for a very long time and going on awful dates but I always loved the day or the idea of the day. Then 2 years ago my boyfriend of a little over 3 months told me he loved me for the first time on Valentine’s Day. And last year proposed to me on Valentine’s Day. When I was a little girl I always dreamed of stuff like that and never lost hope that my forever Valentine was out there and he was. Last night at midnight he kissed me and said happy engagementversary! So cute.
