I totally feel your pain. My parent have recently split up and now there is no money to help pay for my wedding, and I am now unemployed. So that leaves my Fiance paying for the wedding mostly and his parents are contributing about $10,000. We’re looking at a wedding that will be around 40,000, which really only costs that much because he has such a large family. I’m bummed that my parents can’t help but what makes it worse, is that Future Mother-In-Law, makes comments all the time about “are you sure your father can’t help” or “wow this is expensive, maybe they can reconsider giving you guys money”. It’s just grating ya know? So trust me, I understand. But I would do what you are doing, it’s not worth saying anything, because there is nothing your parents can do right now. They are doing the best they can, and you are doing the best you can.

Let it go.  Just make do with what you can provide on your own.  Any gift from them is a GIFT and should not be depended on for the purposes of throwing a wedding.
