About a month ago I started getting pain in my ear. I thought maybe it was swimmers ear and it would just go away but after three weeks it didn’t end and it only got worse so I went to the dr. They had to clean out my ears in order to check. The nurse had me almost in tears. It was such a painful process as they flushed out my ear canal with peroxide and warm water. Then he checked and said I had a mild ear infection and gave me meds. I took all of my medicine just as perscribed. Still ear pain. Today it’s throbbing and red and achey.
I go back to the dr. He says it seems to be an outer ear infection this time. Perscribes me meds and says if it doesn’t go away this time I’ll have to go to a specialist. I get my perscription and it cost me $36 with insurance (apparently insurance saved me $130…what?!?!?) My ear is killing me and I’m kinda grossed out that my meds look like milk.
To make matters worse I got this itchy patch of skin on my hand right below my pinkie about three days ago. I thought maybe eczema or really really dry skin. I slathered lotion on it. Then today I notice it looks weird. Turns out that it’s actually ringworm. I’m EXTREMELY embarrassed to go out in public or be around my Fiance when I have anything contagious beyond a cold. I talk to the pharmacist and he says it’s extremely contagious. Great. I work with food and make drinks all day long for the populous of America. He says if I use a bandaid or a glove I will not allow it to heal as fast because it’s moist. But if I take it off I could infect someone. I’m so embarrassed. I wash my hands 123902839021831908328 times a day. The only place I can think of that I got this from is cleaning drains. I’m so embarrassed and upset. I’m washing all my sheets and towels and blankets fervrently now. I’m so clean. I don’t know where in the world I managed to get this from!!!
I’m tired of being sick. It’s been a month. And I’m tired of spending $$$$.
