If you can’t gain weight and are underweight then you should probably see a doctor. You might have an overactive thyroid or something medical preventing you from gaining weight.

Hi, Welcome to Weddingbee!

I would visit the doctor and I would do a lot of strength training to tone up.

How tall are you? Some people are naturally thin. (I’m 5’8″, 115 pounds.)

You body “sets” it’s weight. That’s why it’s so hard for people to change their weight, their body strives to maintain the weight it thinks it should be.

What part of your dress do you need to “fill out”? You can always get pads in the top! 😉

@abbyful: That is true. My mama has been 5’9 115 for years. She doesn’t work out and she doesn’t diet.

First, have you considered celiac? Gluten caused me to lose a ton of weight (I was 5″ 9′ and 115, not a good look). Seeing a nutritionist and general doctor can help you figure out why you are underweight.

Then what I would recommend is trying to boost your calorie intake through eating several small meals of typically bad foods. Potatoes, rice, and pasta are amazing at helping you gain weight. I ate mashed potatoes at least four times a weak. I would also make a lot of meat and rice dishes (Ground beef or chopped chicken, rice or quinoa, and a vegetable simmered for 30 minutes). Finally, peanut butter, hummus, and guacamole are all loaded with healthy calories. I would snack on them with a glass of wine every night and I finally looked human again.
