@cbee: There is a difference between wanting an ideal population and wanting a healthy population. But of course, it is quite possible to be both healthy and full-figured.

@heathaah: I could probably guess…but heck, I’ll ask anyway. What does “DB” stand for?

@CarolinaCola:  um…in an effort to not get in trouble…some ladies use them to clean themselves down there.   🙂

So, I do agree with you ladies. I think that bashing someone for their weight, hair color, nose size, whatever is ridiculous. As someone who was struggling with their weight and then got pregnant… it does hurt to see things like that. I was gone all day, so I didn’t see this thread or Crisark’s YAGE or any of this business. I am just speaking in general. It’s terrible that we just can’t be NICE. I don’t understand why women feel the need to be so catty and awful to each other.

BUT, I don’t know how many people are aware of this, but the mod team are not all mods. They all have “hostess” under their name, but there are only a handful who have the power to send warnings, close threads, delete posts, etc. and they just lost one this weekend when DDW stepped down. We are talking a team of just a few women who have to police a board with thousands of members. Not to mention that they are all volunteers and they have lives and jobs outside of WB. They are seriously short-handed and haven’t even had time to appoint anyone new because it’s been constant drama, drama, drama. As to why Crisark’s thread got deleted first…. maybe it’s flags were the most recent and they just started from the top. Maybe her thread was more cut and dry and was an immediate delete and the fat bridesmaid thread took a bit more time and thought to get deleted. I’m sure it wasn’t deliberate.

I am so fucking sick of every single time something happens, it’s automatically “Oh, the mods are so evil and mean and unfair and they have such bad double standards.” I have been around the boards a long time and planned my wedding with most of them and they are all good people. Lay off. It’s turned into a damn witch-hunt around here lately.

@zippylef: Are you a mod?

If flags are constantly being ignored, who do we go to then?

@zippylef: You do have a point. I think it’s vital for us to remember that they are volunteers, people just like us who really love the Bee and have offered to moderate in their free time.

@SleepingWithNuns: You also have a good point.

Mr. Bee seemed like the “head bee” back in the day. Who are we supposed to go to if there’s a big problem that needs to be addressed and it doesn’t seem like anything is being done?

@SleepingWithNuns: Nope. Just a long time member who knows a bit about how the mod team works. I doubt flags are just being ignored outright, but there are times when the mods who can do something about them are not online to check it.

Maybe try PMing one of them directly with your concerns. Because of e-mail notification, that might get their attention faster than a regular flag for something that is a big deal and needs immediate attention. I know Bakerella, Mrs. DG and MissAsB are all full mods, I’m not sure who else is though. Oh, and yrret107, I think.

Mods, I’m sure one of you guys will read this. Do we have a “head Bee” like Mr Bee used to be?

@UpstateCait:  I applaud you for sticking up for yourself and the other plus-sized women here.  It is incredibly sad  and infuriating how ignorant people can behave.  I work with 3rd-5th grade students and don’t believe they would stoop so low.  Although they are less mature intellectually and socially, they know when to “zip their lip”, so to speak.  I certainly hope that these individuals will one day learn to take the perspective of others and have a bit more heart!  Cheers to you, CaitMarae!

::sigh:: i have nothing to add except i agree with previous posters…the facts that mods are volunteers is getting really old. Yes we get it…but even when i volunteer to do something, i do it it the right way or i dont do it at all. The double standards are getting REALLY OLD!!
