- Wedding: March 2011
We’ve been laying out plans for the wedding and the one thing we had trouble with was finding an officiant. When we planned our first wedding with more people we had an officiant we loved. We met with her and honestly it felt like it was going to be our favorite grandmother marrying her, she was wonderful and gave us so many options and help. When looking in the new location we could only find officiants that fit our style for $350 or above (I’m very adamant about writing our own vows). I thought “Well, she was charging us $300 for a ceremony and a rehearsal so I wonder how much it’d be to have her come the four hours and only do the ceremony.” I was fully prepared for a good bit in gas plus a hotel room. She quoted me $300 – $250 ceremony plus $50 in gas and even said she could come by the house or meet us at the ceremony spot the day before for a quick run through : ) I’m just so happy right now I thought I’d share. She was one of the biggest parts of the first wedding that I hated to give up. We’ve had some interesting luck lately so it’s a nice happy change.
