(Closed) I'm wearing black to my own wedding! Any other non-traditional brides?

  • poll: What are you wearing?

A traditional style dress in a traditional color (white, ivory, champagne, light pink, etc)

A non-traditional style dress in a traditional color

    A ball/prom/formal gown in a non-traditional color

A non formal dress in a non-traditional color

Something else entirely! (let us know what!)

    Still on the fence

@Bebealways:  My three year old asked if the photo of the blue dress was a picture of Cinderella 🙂

I love both choices.  What’s your venue like?  I imagine someone who has that sense of style probably is going to have a really offbeat wedding!

I’m wearing a traditional ivory dress.  Before we changed our venue, date, theme etc I was planning on wearing a red dress.  Our colors were going to be red and black and our theme was Vegas.  Maybe when we renew our vows or something.

@stuckinwonderland:  I bet cinderella takes lots of selfies. ;D

My venue is an historic boat — the tallest of the few old four-masted sailing ships still afloat, won the last great grain race, was captured by several different countries in different wars, and now hosts a really sweet fusion restaurant.

@stuckinwonderland:  Thanks! 🙂 As soon as I saw that I knew that it was the one. I still look at  dresses and as amazing as some of them are I’m so happy with my choice.

@Bebealways:  That sounds amazing. Any pics? I love unusual settings for venues. We’re getting married at the Wedding pavilion at Disney and the reception is at a courtyard in the Animal Kingdom. Here’s a link to pictures of mine:

@stuckinwonderland:  Oh nooooo you made me start now I’m gonna post a million pictures hahaha, I like it so much I can’t help myself.

Here’s the ceremony space (we’ll be standing in front of the wheel… it might look a little funny actually since we’re self-uniting, like the wheel is our officiant lol)

And the reception space (which will double as ceremony space if it rains too much)

@Bebealways:  That is beautiful. I can’t wait to see the pictures. Guess we should start another post though since we’ve kind of high jacked this thread! lol

@PetiteChicken:  OMGeeee.  Okay I was stress shopping at Target yesterday and I bought the cutttteeest black dress…very similar in style to mine.  Now I have to decide if I want a little puff and giant bow on my chest or my original black dress which is pretty simple and lacy.

The new one def feels more dramatic…it was only 59$!!

I’m shorter than the model and much curvier so it fits a lot different…much more pouf for me.  But it fits like a dang glove.  Only problem is it has a giant gold zipper up the back and my black veil has white rhinestones.
