I live in Minnesota.  I wouldn’t think twice about your dresses.  I just won’t use snowflakes or something in your decor though.

As a fellow Canadian, I don’t consider it to really be “springy” until like May at the earliest so you should be good.

pfrau :  well today it’s officially snowing… so you got me there! Lmao

And now that i have had 8 months to plan my wedding with 4 more months to go, I wish that my wedding was tomorrow. But, that’s just me being impatient and wanting to buy all the last minute things! Don’t rush if you don’t want too, and don’t worry about what other people think. I have been watching 4 weddings and I just hate how these women at the end of their wedding are talking to the camera about how amazing they feel and everyone had a wonderful time, and then months later you can just picture them at home watching 3 other brides bitch out their decor and dress, and food… no one actually picks apart someone’s wedding like that unless they are a snob.

All and all, go with your theme, I love it, I’m sure over the next year you will change some things out to make it even better. I planned 3 totally different types of receptions, down to the cost of the fork rentals, just to in the end have my fiancé chime in that he wanted it MORE casual. So I would work with his input and create a new reception idea that was still to my taste that he could love just as much. Now I hear him bragging and I hear other guys tell him how lucky and how they wish their wedding was as laid back as ours will be. Plus we saved an extra $4000 with the latest changes and now we are going to Ireland for our honeymoon! So win-win-win.

Don’t be afraid to be out side the box.

I faced a similar decision with regard to color.  My wedding is in the middle of summer, but I didn’t like any summer-friendly color palettes.  I kept graviating to black and gold so I rationalized that when you look at the pictures you won’t even know what season it was (I’m in California so no snow) so who cares.

Do yo thang, girl! Seriously, I am originally from Chicago and I consider April to STILL be winter. I think the wedding theme is entirely appropriate and cute.
