How long have you been on this pill?

Well, if you’re already past when you should have gotten your period, you can test with a very good degree of accuracy. I think that you should test. You need to know because, if you are, you need to stop taking the BCP. Plus, if you are then you know and if you aren’t… then you know. Nothing is hurt from testing.

I do hate to say it, but those sound an awful lot like the first symptoms I experienced too. Breast growth and tenderness, nausea, cramping, fatigue, excessive urination…. I’d go ahead and test.

@zippylef: 100% Agreed. If it comes out negative & you still don’t get your period test again in 3-5 days.

I don’t want your hopes to be up so i’ll say no….You should probably wait a week. I’m on the patch now but when I was on the pill I had odd syptoms exactly like that EVERY-SINGLE MONTH. It drove me nuts because my hopes would be up all the time…and always the tests said negative…I’m on the patch now…smooth sail’n

@soon2bhis: Yep. About 20% of women have what is known as implantation bleeding, which can be mistaken for a period at first but is much lighter and shorter. It is also not unheard of to be pregnant and after your period is late and still not test positive. Are you sure your period is late?

Some woman spot all thorugout pregnancy, which Is why theres is that show: I didn’t know I was pregnant.

They assume the bleeding is a period, and a lil weight gain is related to ____ (insert one of 20 reasons here)

Sometimes sex can cause bleeding during your pill month depending on cysts, polyps, roughness etc . Your tissue on the wall can be thin depending on what time of the month your are in your pills. You have been on it for a while so I know you assuming its not breakthorugh bleeding, but I suppose their is a chance.

Since you are not opposed to a baby, I think its exciting for ya!!! Keep us updatd!

I didn’t get spotting, but the rest sounds like me. I also had some insomnia and was drooling extra. I would test.

@soon2bhis: In that case, I would go ahead and test. I tested positive very, very faintly about 3 days before my missed period, but a lot of women don’t until after. I had to post the picture on a forum to make sure I wasn’t seeing things, it was so faint. Make sure you get a test that uses pink dye, not blue, because they are more reliable.

I had/still have a lot of insomnia, too.
