No thank god! The only “curveball” cost was getting his vaccination form transcribed.  But that was before we submitted the packet.  After the packet it was approx 4 months for us to get the prem resident paper and unlike the K1 fiance we weren’t hit with so many surprise costs! We’re still waiting for the physical card, it should come in 3 weeks? I need to do a post about it, but I’ve been so busy. 🙁

We submitted in October, and received January. Our case was sent over to California and no interview was required. I was shocked!

I think everyone’s has to go to chicago, and from chicago your paper work goes somewhere else. and then from where ever that was, ours went to california. It’s archaic.

hi d’orsay– can you let me know about this vaccination form needing to be transcribed?  did he get the vaccinations on the NHS, or privately at his medical, or ?  Thanks!

holy crap – the (physical) greencard/perm resident card came in the mail today! What is up with the sudden speed?

@jhphi It’s the 3rd paragraph? http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/11/30/keepin-it-legal/

Mr.D says To get the visa you have to have a medical exam, And you have to pass it. During the medical exam they ask you about vaccinations. However, vaccinations are not mandatory for the medical exam. Important point: If you are up to date with all your vaccinations, then they actaully put it on your medical form. Or, they give you the option of having them there and then, but it’s expensive. If you have them up to date, or if you have them done at the time of the medical, they will tick a box on the form saying all vaccinations are done (or something to that tune).

He decided to get his done at the local doctor for free! So he still got the visa before he had them done but he needed them done for AOS which is why he had to get that form transcribed, as his vaccinations (when his medical was done) were not all complete.
