well i sort of had something similar, i picked the ring, was even there when he picked it up (but he wouldn’t let me go into the store with him or see the ring after he got it until he proposed) i guessed the day when he would propose, but he didn’t tell me i was right, and i knew down to the hour on the day when he proposed, but it was still emotional. so i think it will still be special if it is a planned proposal, but make sure he still makes it a little bit of a surprise! i wouldn’t want him to just put it on my finger and be done with it, and i waited a month after he got it, but that’s just me.

I went through something similar. My (now) fiance and I decided we wanted to start looking at rings. We went to the jewelry store JUST TO LOOK but I ended up falling in love with one. He sent me and my best friend out of the store so he could talk to the sales woman. Later, he told me he didn’t buy it and was going to go back and get it, but I knew that he really did…womans intuition maybe?! I don’t know. Well lo and behold he let it slip that the ring was back in from being resized, and since the cat was out of the bag, he ASKED ME how I wanted to be proposed to. REALLY DUDE?! He wouldn’t let the topic go. He said he wanted to make it special and blah blah blah, and I had to tell him that it would be special no matter what, but that I DID NOT want to know when it would happen nor did I want to tell him how to do it. In the end we went on a hiking trip and became engaged in front of a waterfall. It was sweet and beautiful but I have to admit I had a feeling it was coming, so I didn’t have the element of surprise I have always wanted. That’s neither here nor there though. We’re getting married and that’s all that matters!

Good luck to you, whatever you two decide to do!

@Madi.So.Excited:  haha i understand how you felt about not wanting to know how or when! i did used to point out romantic proposal stories to my then SO, but kept my dream proposal secret (proposal during a walk on the beach at sunset on our anniversary) so he wouldn’t do it just cos that’s what i told him to do. guess what his planned proposal was? proposing during a sunset walk on the beach! but he wasn’t able to do that because of the DOZENS of people around, and proposed after dinner during another walk on the beach, under the stars. I still find it funny that his proposal was going to be my dream one and i didn’t even tell him!

@morganboo163:  They still get nervous though! My fiance was so scared he’d do something stupid and ruin the moment I’ve dreamed about my entire life. He said it was a lot of pressure on him. It’s kind of sweet when you think about it!
