If people don’t understand that the ring had to be fixed/resized then they are being patently unreasonable. Some people even send them off to be engraved.

The cat proposal is the cutest thing ever. Congratulations! 🙂

Are you feeling happier and “more engaged”? I hope so!

You’re going to look back at this day and laugh, it’ll make a great story to tell at parties. “He was trying to propose all day but I was in a bad mood, my hair was messy, my makeup sucked, and in my head I kept saying ‘I hope he doesn’t propose’ and then he tells me to look under the cat!” haha

msmeow85 :  Life isn’t perfect so I kind of love your engagement story. This also sounds like something I would do! It sucks you need to send your ring off to get repaired, could you wear it now for a bit whilst you break the news to people and then send it off? My sister’s ring was a bit big for her so she wore it for the initial “let’s look at the ring stage” and then got it sent off to be adjusted.

It’s a sweet proposal story, it’s REAL. You can always make it more entertaining when you tell it to family/friends but I think the way you wrote it out is perfect– like you had your own crazy thoughts throughout the day and your Fiance was acting all funny and nervous 😛 made me smile.

Dry similar story here. Married 40 years. All you need for “perfect” is a good man who loves you like crazy.

msmeow85 :  just take the ring ti a local jeweler and ask them to flow some solder over the spot and smooth and polish it up for you, it shoukd be very expensive considering its not much work to do.

Aw, I think your proposal story is cute! It’s pretty impressive that your cat cooperated. Mine certainly wouldn’t!

My Darling Husband proposed the same day the e-ring arrived and the band was damaged in much the same way. He was too excited to see the damage! I think the repair took a week or two? It was kind of annoying but such a blip in the grand scheme of things.

Congrats and best wishes!

Congrats, first and foremost!

Fiance and I were looking at engagement rings. We’d already decided we wanted to get married (second marriage for both of us). We found a ring that met our criteria. He bought it and put it on my finger in the store. No fancy proposal. He keeps saying he’s going to rectify that, but after a year of being engaged, and 9 months to go before our wedding, I’m OK with it.

for what it’s worth, I think it’s a really cute proposal story.

The story will only get cuter in your head the more time passes! He literally couldn’t wait once he got the ring, aw. My cousin’s husband proposed after she had a shower and had wet hair and a bathrobe!

As for sending the ring away, you’re literally making a big deal out of nothing! I had to get my ring resized and it took aaages, it really wasn’t that hard to tell people ‘the ring is being resized right now’. It certainly doesn’t affect your engaged status…

“Hey, uh . . what, uh, what’s under the cat, there?”
That is sooo funny and cute!!!

I am in the opposite situation. I am dreading the mushy proposal. I haven’t got a damn romantic bone in my body and would love to simply exchange rings and then eat some yummy fried chicken whatever. Lol

msmeow85 :  Your ring is going to be fixed, so no worries there. And your proposal story is incredibly hilarious, sweet and real. You have nothing to worry about. When my husband proposed to me, it was the day after my birthday and he didn’t get me anything – not even a card. So, I had an attitude the entire day and I let him know it. And he still proposed. That’s love right there. Lol You and your future hubby will look back and laugh at your proposal story, just like my hubby and I do.

Congratulations, you’re getting married!! xoxo
