I always used to have quite a high sex drive, however a year after having the implant inserted (which was now a year ago) my sex drive dramatically lowered and has not changed.
I find it difficult to get turned on and rarely feel like I want to have sex. Luckily my SO is very understanding. Just fed up.
Other forms of contraception just don’t work. I am useless with the pill, we are crap with condoms.
Has anyone else found this with the implant?

I think it’s fairly standard with hormonal methods, but have heard of more complaints from implant users. Hmmm… definitely not particularly convenient, but have you thought of diaphrams or caps + spermicide? I’ve heard they can be a pain and mood killers, but if implants are squashing your libido anyhow, it might be worth looking into.

@LilMonkey: I had a lower libido with the pill than I did the implant, but had bleeding issues after 18 months and had the implant removed and went back to the pill, which saw my normally stable mental state plummet to thoughts of suicide. I persevered for a month before deciding I couldn’t do it, and got the Mirena IUD. I finally feel like me again – no hormones running through my body like they do with the pill. I guess hormones affect people differently – my implant caused bleeding after 18 months, so the doctor took it out and put in a new one (he said the hormones may have waned a little – enough to cause the bleeding), then 18 months later, more issues, that was when I went back to the pill.
