So… I’m getting married in Vegas in October and have bought the most impractical destination dress… ever! It was a phenomenal deal and it called to me. I will be wearing the dress for the pre wedding pics at the hotel, then traveling by limo to our wedding ceremony (which involves walking around on fine gravel) then we will have an hour long photo session around downtown Vegas. After that, I will change into the reception dress for dinner. Now, a bustle would be ideal for traveling around, but I want the train down in the pictures and I may not have any one to help me with a bustle and we wouldn’t have time to stop and rebustle anyway. It seems my only option is a wrist loop to wrangle my dress for transport – can it even be done on this dress? Any other suggestions?

teresa.barlak: This is obvious, so probably not all that helpful, but when I see brides get married downtown, they mostly just lift up their huge trains and carry the bottoms of their dresses when walking to photo destinations. I’d be more worried about the practicality of transporting it! (Unless you’re local to Vegas, of course!)

No, that helps… I can also do that. I’m not used to even wearing dresses, let alone a wedding gown, so I’m pretty clueless. 🙂
As far as transporting the dress, I’ve already decided that I’m going to have to ship the dress ahead of time and send it to a “destination wedding specialist” in Vegas that will unwrinkle it and deliver it to my hotel room.

A wrist loop can be attached to almost any dress. It’s just a matter of deciding on the right location.

julies1949: Oh, nice – I wasn’t sure. All the dresses that I saw when I searched wrist straps online weren’t as poofy on the bottom.
