Our governor has been very proactive about closures in our state (Maryland). He closed schools 2 weeks ago and shut down everything except essential services. I think this is why our state has had relatively few deaths (5) compared to other states. And it’s being taken seriously. Just this afternoon there were too many people congregating at the high school, walking around the track, high schoolers trying to get a pick up game going. And they brought out a HELICOPTER to make an announcement from the air for the people to disperse. Maybe that’s overkill, but the police mean business. We haven’t left the house in 2 weeks and we have no plans to, although trips to the grocery store are permitted if necessary.

missviolet92 :  Hi Bee! How is your lockdown going? We are bored here  – not being allowed to walk/jog outside is taking its toll – I will never take that freedom for granted again!

@cc33ammy:  not sure what you mean by restaurants being considered “essential” in U.S. In my state restaurants have only been able to do takeout since mid-March. No one can sit inside a restaurant and eat. Even after we start to reopen in about two weeks, only outside seating will be allowed.

Such a happy follow up post!

Im happy for you, bee, and it would be smart if your country opened up but kept its borders closed for a little longer. This way you can go back to living your lives, but with some precaution, as the rest of the world has to play catch up. Congrats!

Hang in there bee. I’m in the US and where I live we were on lockdown for 8 weeks. The best thing to do is give yourself the grace that some days will be hard and that’s okay. Pick a new show to watch, buy some books, pick up a hobby and settle in for the long haul!

@Anonymous1063:  I’m assuming the bee meant essential as in being allowed to stay open at any capacity. The list of businesses deemed essential is longer than many realize and for good reason usually.

We have been into lockdown as well and now the rules will slightly go easier. I really hope our lives could go back to normal soon! I don’t know how I’d feel without any chance to work remotely and everyday talking to my mom via Skype. Her birthday had passed andI couldn’t even see her, I had to send her gifts with the courier and I also did  a smartshow 3d slideshow but it is not the same.
