I was searching Etsy for some wedding items I will need to purchase soon. I was looking at garters, but my mom bought me 2 garters from Etsy for christmas. They are very cute & I know she was worried I wouldnt like them. I do love them, they just dont really match my theme or my dresses really. But because she bought them, I feel like I should wear them. So what should I do bees?
My colors are Gold, Blush, & Ivory… One of my dresses is ivory corset ballgown & one is a pink lace mermaid.
Here is the pic of the garters she bought me: ( I think she wanted to include the something blue)

I don’t think they need to match. I think they’re lovely.

@Barbiestylez: Perfect! Something Blue! I like em …high five mama barbiestylez!

no one actually sees the garter until it is thrown… and I know anytime I have been to a wedding i have NEVER thought… man that girls garter doesnt match her dress… People could care less about that kinda thing… .
ALSO… you may not want to wear your garter all night… they can cause major painful chaffing!

I would wear it/them! I mean, they’re going to be UNDER your dress or (presumably) flying through the air, so it’s not like anyone will really have time to ponder the aesthetics. Plus they’re super cute!

@Barbiestylez: My garter does not match at all, and I don’t really think it needs to match. I think the garters your mom bought are beautiful!

I thought garters went under the dress. No one will see them…so who cares?

Wear what your mama bought u. Nobody will care if it doesn’t match (and if they did…that’s just a weird item to care about!)

As other Bees have said, I believe the colour is not consequential.
When I got married the first time (circa 1980) they came basically in 2 colours… White or Blue.
So if you like em enough… just wear one (or both if you plan to keep one for a souvenir) that your Mom bought you
I think that it was a very nice sentimental sweet gesture honestly.

I dont think it has to match

I don’t think it has to match. I never even notice the colors on the garter during the garter toss.
Sure, why not? They’re under the dress anyway.

@Barbiestylez: only the guy who catches it is going to (maybe) notice what it looks like. And guys don’t notice things like matching. You are way over thinking it. I would wear it.

My garter is covered in my university’s logo, so it doesn’t go with any other decor or attire at the wedding. But who cares? It won’t be on display, so if you like it, wear it!

you can always buy your own garter that you want to keep and use one of those as your “toss garter”
