Perhaps some of the pre-owned/loved sites?  preownedweddingdresses.com or recycledbride.com or oncewed.com?

Are you anywhere close to a David’s Bridal?  They usually have a large selection of gowns in all sizes, and should be able to sell off the rack.

I’m afraid with only a couple of months, you won’t be able to order anything.

There are many designers who CAN do a rush cut, but, for example, a Maggie rush cut right now is the end of January.  Maggie does carry hanging stock (the store should be able to check while you’re still there) and you should be able to buy something off the rack.  A size 14 isn’t considered plus size (a lot of my store’s samples are 14’s!) so keep an open mind and ask for a discount if you purchase off the rack.  Good luck!!!

@kclerner:  Try shopping department stores off the racks!  I got mine at Lord and Taylor on 39th and it was beautiful!  The bridal department closed there, but when I was there to get alterations done, they still had some dresses hanging.  The brand I picked, Theia went up to a 14 I believe

You could also take a trip to the burbs to Roosevelt Field, there is a Nordstroms there with a bridal suite.  LIRR isn’t running, but it should be soon!  They also have a great return policy if you wanted to order offline!

OH and there is the Pronovias flagship that should be in an OK area..  high 40’s maybe between 5th and 6th??

If you find something you like at David’s, and you can order it online, do that.  I ordered my dress and a bolero online (separately) and both were in my hands within 4 days of ordering, with standard shipping.  Same thing for my bridesmaids– everyone ordered their dress online and had them within a week.  You can even return things purchased online, I’m doing it with the bolero!

Weddingbee also has classifieds!!! You can always peek in there and see if there is something you like there.

@kclerner:  Have you contacted Bridal Reflections?  They have 3 locations (Fifth Avenue, Massapequa, and Westbury).  I purchased a bridesmaid dress from them in the past and I’m scheduled for a bridal appt. with them in Nov.

Macy’s also carries bridal gowns. Pronovias has a flagship store in midtown in an area that was not effected by the storm.

@kclerner:  You’d be suprised with the sizing.  I’m a street size 10 or 12 and was taking a size 10 in most dresses that I tried on.  This was for brands like Allure, Maggie Sottero, Mori Lee, etc. which I heard normally run smaller than street sizing than say somewhere like David’s Bridal.
