I love both, but In Christ Alone is a little more upbeat and… inspirational?  I absolutely love it and it’s so moving.  I would go with that since it’s more contemporary and you already have a hymn, but they’re both great options!

ETA:  And I just saw your last sentence about the not repeating the Hosea/Gomer story haha!  Yeeeahhh… probably not a good time for that one! ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Knubbsy-Wubbsy: Oh my… I probably would have too!!  It’s a fascinating part of the Bible, but not the best for a wedding, especially when there are people there who wouldn’t get it… yikes.

My vote is for In Christ Alone but you probably shouldn’t count it since I am partial to it and may walk down the aisle to it.

I would just like to say that our song lists are almost exactly the same, those are our favorite songs! And I agree, In Christ alone is a little more upbeat.

I voted In Christ Alone, but I remembered there are actually 2 songs with that name.  I LOVE the one that has the death/resurection story.    I think the other one is a little older… maybe from the 90’s.  It’s only ok in my opinion.  Since you said it was used in the Easter service, I’ll assume you meant the first one.  Yay!

My sister and I actually sang “Be Thou My Vision” a capella for my godsister’s processional, and then “In Christ Alone” (with keyboards) as the first of two hymns before the vows! No prizes for guessing which of your two options I picked ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love both too but How Great The Fathers Love For US always always makes me cry. And that would suit me if I were getting married again. Just choose the song you both love more ๐Ÿ™‚
