ok, so…. My soon to be in-laws have decided they ARE throwing an engagement party for their family friends to come to. They informed us that we need to register so people can bring gifts, and pick a date. I voiced my concern that as of now we are planning on having a small family only (around 40 people) destination wedding and that all of these people they would be inviting to the engagment party would NOT be invited to the wedding. I told them I didn’t think it was proper ettiquite to invite people to an engagment party they bring a gift and then their NOT invited to the wedding! They completely disagree and think its fine and want to go ahead with it. I told them I would research it and let them know… What do you guys think????? is that bad ettiquite, not bad? If it is bad, how to explain it to inlaws….. arg….
