My Future Father-In-Law gets on my nerves. we get along pretty well but he is always mean to my Fiance (his step son) and he makes racist jokes all the time (i am native american) he also is always trying to teach my daughter how to say bad things…

@SoontobeMsL: the good thing is that I really won’t have to deal with them after we are married because the Marine Corp will probably move us far from here =)

lol This is fun. 🙂

My Future Mother-In-Law cried hysterically when she found out we were getting married in my hometown and not in the town where she and FH’s dad live right now. First of all, I have more connections to my hometown; my FH lived in the town where they live now for literally five months. Second of all, it’s our choice; my parents would have been happy with whatever we had chosen to do! She takes every decision we make as a personal jab against her or his side of the family; it’s insane because I’ve been nothing but nice to her! Inlaws are crazyyyyyy.

@cyndistar3: Oh geez, my Future Mother-In-Law loves to drink and get obnoxious, too. The last wedding we went to with his family was just downright embarrassing! At least she doesn’t blame me for anything when she gets drunk, though! 😛

@brideatbeach: My Future Mother-In-Law can get smashed off of 2 wine coolers HAHAHA Before Christmas we decided to make fudge and she decided to have a couple Mojitos and got DRUNK she just started guessing on the ingredients and when it came out a gooey runny mess she decided to call it “spoon fudge” and proceeded to tell people that I made it even though all I did was grab a couple ingredients out of the pantry!

luckily my future in laws live in England and we are in Connecticut but sometimes they still make their way over even if its through guilty emails and phone calls. My Fiance doesnt really get along with his mother but he still feels bad sometimes that he left but he always wanted to move out here regardless of meeting me! After we got engaged we were in England and his mother said to me, “dont have a son, have a daughter you have a daughter for life, have a son you lose him to a wife” I just giggled it off but I was a little upset. She should be happy we are finally able to be together after 4 years of long distance only seeing each other for short periods of time. Its just hard getting those little shots of guilt thrown at you every now and again.

I haven’t met or heard from my fiance’s father, but his mother seems great.  I’m looking forward to meeting her.  MY family are the crazy ones, poor guy.  Last Christmas my mother told him to his face that he “ruined Christmas” because her family refused to come for dinner due to his staying with me while he visited for the holidays.  Her husband told me to “send loverboy back to [province]”.  That’s not the first thing, the worst thing or the last thing, but it’s pretty much their attitude toward him in general so it will do for explanation for now.

Future Father-In-Law is the most arrogant person and he has this way of talking down to you that makes it impossible to pull him into line without looking rude yourself. Not to mention he never does the right thing or makes any effort to be in SO’s life.

I dont have “problems” with my Future In-Laws but I do get very stressed when they have to know EVERYTHING about us and our family. I guess it wouldnt be so bad, but then you get judged if you dont do exactly what they think is perfect.

I cloth diaper my daughter (2 yrs) and Future Father-In-Law and Future Mother-In-Law just kept telling me all the negitive issues (even though very mis-informed) and to this day KEEP trying to change my mind. Although they think they won because I dont cloth diaper my son who is 1, but thats because he doesnt have the skin issues she has.

I LOVE the nod and smile technique. If you have kids PERFECT IT!! It doesnt stop when you walk down the aisle… then you have kids, and it will be another 18 yrs!! lol
