i prefer corset back to zip back. the support is better, especially if you have a large chest.

what is it that you like about the zipper?

I think it can be done, but usually would be ordered in sizes larger so that the corset edges come together and can just add buttons? It may be too late if you’ve already ordered. There are some real perks to corset back dresses, though!

@kay2405:  It’s hard to say if it will look funny or not without pictures of the dress. I agree with the other posters that the corset can do serious wonders for ladies with larger busts by giving you more support and actually enhancing your curves better. Also, like drlolaz said, to put in the zipper you would have needed to order at least 2 sizes or more bigger so that the dress will actually be able to meet in the middle to put in a zipper so it will most like not be possible unless you are able to stop your order and order a larger size.

Bear in mind that I say all of that having worked at a bridal salon, and I have ordered dresses for brides before that wanted to switch their dress from corset to zipper.

@kay2405:  I don’t have a photo so this is probably not terribly helpful (sorry!) but my dress was a zip up with buttons all the way down the back and I changed the bodice portion to a corset back but kept the rest of the buttons.  I don’t know how it’s going to look yet, but if you like the corset but want the look of buttons maybe you can add some below the corset portion?

If you do, send me a photo, my alterations won’t be done until November :-/
