I had long (like really, really long) hair for almost a decade. A few weeks ago, I cut off like 10 inches and now have a long bob-type haircut. It doesn’t quite touch my shoulders. Anyway, as I am a sucky blow dryer-er (if that’s a word), I use the blow dryer and then use my straightener/flat iron to make my hair look decent. I have always used a straightener, but usually just to do a few touch ups on my hair after blow drying..and certainly not every day.
Anyway, now that I’m using a straightener every day, I don’t want to damage my hair too badly; I have really healthy hair and I’d like to keep it that way. My hair is naturally very straight, so I don’t use the straightener for too long each day, but I do use it every morning now. Does anyone have any suggestions for hair products that are good for protecting your hair from the heat of a straightener?
Thank you, wonderful Bees!

i love paul mitchell super skinny serum. it protects, shines, smooths and tames the frizzies/fly aways and it smells really good! i haven’t tried the diamond oil that was suggest above, but redken is a really great brand. pretty much all their products are awesome.

PM Super Skinny is pretty awesome. I like Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal too – you don’t see it on your hair as much. I use it every day (along with their shampoo and conditioner) and my hair is super soft and shiny. I get more body with the Soy Renewal than with the Super Skinny – Super Skinny is great for if you really do want straight hair.
A lot of brands have heat protectants, too. I have a Redken lotion and a spray – that’s what you really want to look for if you’re using an iron.
