I’m becoming disappointed in this community.

@Mrs. DG: that’s certainly understandable, but i mean… i flagged the fat bridesmaid post at 7am and at that point it had already been flagged multiple times. that post (as well as the one before it which i never saw) was the source for today’s drama but it was the LAST thing to be addressed and only just now was closed. Miss T was banned for complaining about when skinny girls say they’re fat in order to get attention. this chick was calling out all “giant” girls and REMAINS a member. on that, i would definitely call bullshit. i know it was reported that Miss T was previously warned, but to me (and i’m not plus size) this was a gravely more insulting post and shouldn’t have lasted 11 minutes let alone 11 hours and the subsequent drama is just what happens when people see how unfairly moderated that post was. i get that it was overnight. i get that you and bakerella probably just realized there was this giant shitstorm! i’m sorry that you 2 are taking heat for this when we know you’re volunteers and that the mod team is bigger than you. BUT, someone saw that post (as evidenced by the non-OP moderation) and did not take action IAW the TOS.

@Mrs. DG: We all understand that moderating is a thankless job. And some mods are respected more than others, however when over a dozen people ask a mod to step in and they don’t it is very upsetting. Especially when it was created violating the TOS.

I think the excuse of the MODs work on volunteer time is getting REALLY old. IF  you dont have time to do what you signed up for then don’t sign up to do it. You cant keep using that as an excuse every time the MODs drop the ball. A mod obviously was watching the “Fat Bridesmaid” thread and edited a comment but left the whole tread up…? Complete double standard when looking back and seeing what happened as a result of the “Skinny Bitches” thread. The “Fate Bridesmaid” thread finally got closed for being unproductive when it was obviously against the TOS

We’re actually discussing whether we should delete it altogether as well.  I have no tolerance for weight bashing and way back in the Mr. Bee days, I talked about putting something about “Hate speech” in the Community guidelines, but it got really complicated.

But I agree, maligning any group of people, be it for religious, racial or for the way they look should not be tolerated.  I think our team is on board with that as well, so we’re definitely not trying to let stuff pass… but we’ve had a lot going on with mod team transitions as well.  Please, keep letting us know about this stuff!

I think it’s pretty safe to say that any threads or comments which negatively refer to anyone’s weight should not be tolerated.

That thread is now gone…  I wish people were respectful of other individuals and would self-moderate about weight bashing, but we’ll watch any threads that have reference to weight really closely and make sure that no one is trying to walk on the line but not cross over.

I’m sorry that we only got to it now…  I wish I had gotten to it sooner, but when I came in Bakerella was already working on it!

Glad to see it is deleted now, thanks for that. It is sad that rules like that are encessary, it seems like it should be so obvious to not say such mean things about others =(

@ViaMinorViator: I think there should be a section for them, they have different dress needs and have dress complications because of it.

I think people need to remember their manners and remember not to turn this into the knot.com.

It is also up to the bees who realize that these bashers are dead wrong to say something to them and to support are full figured friends

@Mrs. DG: could you put something in regards to weight-based discrimination or weightism.

It’s time for people to stop being so cowardly. I mean, do these girls have nothing better to do than to log onto online forums and bully others for their weight?

I think people are so much more apt to be snarky and mean because no one knows their true identities.

If you wouldn’t say something to someone’s face, don’t say it on a message board. How much more immature can we get? Argh.
