This is it. This is the dress I picture myself in.
I’ve looked at countless dresses and seen black and white dresses but nothing that has the key elements that I think make this dress.
- Deteachable LARGE full train
- Black lace peacking out from the bottome
- elegent black floral pattern
- Settle for something similar
- Commision a dress
- try a semi diy method
Now, the local dressmakers I’ve spoken to say that the cost of this would be well into the thousands. It rangees from 3k-5k, and the drawings I did NOT like :(. I’m still looking~~
I thought about finding a simple white dress, buying a ballgown from the same designer (so the white would match) and have a seamstress turn the bottom half of the ballgown into a detachable train, then either find lots of appliques in a black and have the seamstress attach them OR have someone OR hire someone to hand paint a black/flower damask design arround the dress
I treid emailing some of the favored overseas dress designers, like milly, dressilyme, and corals bridal, but none of them really understood what I wanted
Thanks ladies. I
ll update this thread and I get more info. I can’t be the only one who is in love with this beauty

I’m having Jasmine’s Bridal make my dress, and so far my communication with them has been great. They speak excellent English and they’re really nice to deal with in general. 🙂 Right now is their busy season though, so I’m not sure how quickly they could get back to you. But, if your wedding isn’t for a while yet, they might be something to look into. http://www.jasminesbridalshop.com/, and also photos of their work on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/media/albums/?id=100003492414047. I had originally wanted to go with Dressilyme, but they were too busy to make it. Now I’m really happy I ended up with Jasmine’s, since their work seems superior to any other overseas maker that I’ve seen. They make dresses from scratch, so maybe they would be able to help you with yours. Not sure about the black flower print though…but they would let you know what they can or can’t do.
Anyway, that’s my input haha 🙂 Best of luck with the dress!!

Wow, thanks weddingbee for eating my post. Lets try that again
So I’ve scoured the interwebs, bridal mags, everything and found only one (one 🙁 ) person who made a replica of this dress for the general public for purchace
Lightinthebox.com sells this for $249.99 plus shipping. I beieve it leaves something to be desired. The shape isn’t flattering for many body types-heck that stick figure of a model looks a bit, well, off. The train isn’t as poofy as i’d like and the embroidery doesn’t seem to match well either.
I changed tactics a bit and started searching for desses with detachable trains. Here’s what I found:
This is a picture of a dress by moonlight bridal, from some knockoff website. it’s not the best picture, but if you look closely it’s modele after the Sabrina dress. Notice the embriodery (in white) and the detachable train.
This is the closest I can find, and I’m 70% happy with the dress as is in the picture. The things i’d like to change are easily describable (add black satin ruffle to edge of train, 6-8 layers of black tulle to inside of train, black satin band under the bust, corset back)
Anyone happen to know who designed this dress?

Also, I’ve decided to forget the embroidery. Though it does make big part of the dress, it could also go horribly horribly wrong. I think with the black ruffle and a black band under the bust it will have a very weddingish feel and people will see the resemblnce to the iconic dress.
I must do a picture like this:

I’d check Mia Solano… there are a few similar dresses they have. The M1191Z comes to mind, bu t there are others…. good luck!

Kind of an update.
I all had forgotten my dream dress (cry) and bought a champange bm dress to wear as my weding dress. I wanted to keep it simple. Wellwhen Fiance heard about it he veto’d a colored dress. After some minor fighting I realized I just settled for any old dress and I wasn’t too upset at looking for a new one.
So now I need to start over. Upon browsing ebay, I found this :
now, It’s not perfect, but If i brought up the skirt hemline, added a ruffle along the train and added some lace appliques…..
Am i completley crazy? It’s $110, so it’s a steal.

@MissFlowerPot: That is very cheap, have you looked into what it would cost to get it embroidered? It is possible that with alterations and added embroidery you can have your dream dress for very cheap!
