Hi Briana! Welcome to Weddingbee! I can’t be too helpful (we didn’t get married in Pgh but live here). However, you might want to check out posts by Mrs. Pineapple, Mrs. Lollipop, Mrs. Deviled Egg and Mrs. Sunbeam. They’re the Bees from Pittsburgh! Let me know if you need help!

Hi Briana,
Our florist was Alex from Alex’s Flowers and we liked him a great deal.  The website isn’t anything amazing (http://www.alexsflowers.com/ and if you click on the “here” link next to wedding information, you’ll see me with my flower girl!) but his personality is great and we were really happy with our flowers and service.

We weren’t in love with our photographer, so I don’t have any recommendations there, but best of luck!

Where in Pittsburgh are you getting married?

Hey! We absolutely loved our florist and photographer.  Ou florist was Kim from Dragonfly Florist.  She hands down has the BEST prices for floral arrangments. http://www.dragonflyfloristpa.com I will attach a picture of my bouquet and cake topper that she did for me.  Our photographer was Tony Urban. http://www.tonyurbanphotography.com  He is based out of Somerset and he did an AMAZING job. I seriously couldn’t be happier with his services.

Hi Briana! I am new the the bee, as well, but am getting married this Saturday! (10/17/09) My Fiance and I have had to plan on a budget, but I did my research and was able to get all of the kinds of services I really wanted (string duo for our ceremony, flowers that I loved, a venue that is fabulous).

My florist is Val Brooks, who is doing my bouquets, bouts, chair ribbons, mom’s flowers, cake flowers & centerpieces for an incredible price (way under $500).  She used to manage 5 floral dept’s of a chain store, but now just does weddings on the weekends, in addition to her day job.  This is what enables her to do wedding flowers for such an incredible price, since there is no store overhead, etc… I will post some pics after the wedding so that you can see how everything turns out & then I will be happy to refer you to her (but I don’t want to post her info on the board, would rather email it to you – let me know if you want my email addy).

The other thing I did not want to sacrifice is my photog – I want great pictures! But that budget came into play again…did more research & found Kathi Radcliffe (radcliffephotography.com). She also has wonderful budget-friendly prices and packaging & you can see the work on her site is beautiful! I could not afford $2k for a photog & I am so grateful I was able to hire Kathi – will post some of her pics after the wedding once I get them back, but be sure to check her out!

HTH! Sorry so long, but I try to give helpful info regarding vendors 🙂

P.S. Emily your bouquet was BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I heard great things about DJ Zimmie from the coordinator at the History Center.  I hired him for my wedding next May, so I can’t give you a recommendation yet, but he’s been great about answering my questions, meeting up when I was in town, etc…  I’m really excited.  He plays on turntables — how cool!

For photography, my Fiance and I booked Joanna Fassinger.  Her work is great and she is SUPER friendly and responsive.
