LOL!!!!!!!  This EXACT situation happened to us last month!  I had a sinus infection and he head the infamous MAN COLD.  I was dragging myself around the house tending to his needs the entire time because he just COULD NOT get out of bed. He felt sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sick.

At the time it sucks, but a month later I am laughing about how pitiful he acts.

@1stRosie:  LOL! I HATEEEEE when Darling Husband gets sick. I absolutely 100% dread it.  He is grumpy (understandably) and moans and whines and makes me go insane with all his requests.  I feel like a servant when all is said an done.  Men have it so good…

@canarydiamond:  YES! This commercial always had me laughing.

Seriously, the man-cold is terrible. The world is ending! Why can’t we understand!? Hehe.

@1stRosie:  Haha “he just flops around like a helpless fish out of water” totally describes my Fiance when he’s sick or tired. Drives me round the bend!!

@1stRosie:  this exact scenerio is happening with us, but with genders reversed, lol. When I get a common cold, I give up on life. I’m pretty lucky that FH steps in and takes care of me!

omg this is SO my life! if my fiance has a sore shoulder, he MUST have a half hour massage. if he’s congested, HE’S DYING.

meanwhile, i had FOOD POISONING and he let the dishes stack in the god damn sink for days.

no words.

OMG I love this thread!!!! And I adore the fish out of water simile!! It couldn’t be more true.  They get a sore throat and oh my lord you’d think they’re at death’s door.  A woman can have the flu, be giving birth and cooking a meal all at the same time and her husband will come in to ask her  where the kleenex is!

Darling Husband and I actually joke about this, it’s the only way I can deal with it. He fully admits men are big babies when it comes to being sick but I’m also not Mrs. Nicey nurse either. I’ll take care of him of course and pamper him to some degree, but he doesn’t get to just lay around the house being pitiful. Don’t make me bust out the phenagrin (sp?) suppositories either. =p

p.s. I do have to give him credit though, he takes great care of me when i’m sick. Cooks homemade chicken noodle soup (boils the chicken, makes the broth, makes the noodles etc….) when I don’t feel good and makes me follow the typical get well regimen.

My Darling Husband is the world’s cutest 4 year old when he’s sick!

“BrandNewBride, I need orrrrrangejuice…” “NO, BRANDNEWBRIDE! I don’t WANT you to take my temperature!”

One time, when I was sick, he made ME sleep on the couch! To be fair, it was some really important week for him at work, but seriously.

Dick move, dude!

My dad is the worst when he’s sick.  When he’s sick he gets himself so stressed out that he usually ends up at the urgent care getting an IV for dehydration as a result.

Thankfully my husband is rarely if ever sick more than a few hours and he just lays in bed and sleeps it off.  I offer him soup and tea and he just wants to be left alone to sleep.
