I like incense, there’s something so soothing about it. However you might want to take into consideration fire hazards or if someone who is in the home often suffers from asthma.

I think the smell of insense is much stronger if that’s what you’re going for, but I think candles are prettier and less likely to smoke anyone out lol

@omglauren:  I don’t like incense at all, the smell is too strong for me. I’m very sensitive to smells. I very much enjoy candles and reed diffusers.

@omglauren:  I chose candles but I don’t use them for fire hazard reasons (I have a couple in case the power goes out though) but I do use a walmart brand of the scentsy wax warmers and I have it on 24/7. Usually with an apple scented piece of wax in it. I used to be okay with insense but I can’t anymore because I get a headache because it is too strong.

I prefer candles as incense can be too overpowering.

I definitely prefer candles, but now I pretty much always use my Scentsy warmer!

I’m a candle girl, I like the smell of inscence but only for a brief period. If it’s lit for too long the smell gets too strong and I know some people are sensitive to smoke so I don’t burn it if I’m having company.

I really don’t like either because I get migraines from almost all artificial smells, but if I had to choose.. candles.

I like both, but I prefer incense. Theres something calming about it, for me. And the smell lasts longer. Candle scents seem to disappear the second you snuff them out, but you’ll smell incense for hours afterwards. I do have to be careful about what scents I get my incense in, though, some of them (patchouli kind of scents) give me a migraine.

We use candles when we are going to have guests for added ambience but normally we are a neither candles nor incense kind of family. I just don’t like the fire dangers with candles.
