My father passed away 8 years ago and I would love to incopertate him somehow into my wedding. I have no thoughts what-so-ever on how to do this. Does anyone have thought/suggestions/what they did for a deceased family member??

My Father also passed away… I’m very blessed to have a wonderful step-father who is going to walk me down the aisle, but I’m going to have a locket with my fathers picture in it attached to my bouquet, so that both of my fathers will be able to walk me down the aisle. We also are going to have a picture of him and a candle to light in his honor during the cermony. Hope this helps, sorry to hear about your father, I know that it’s especially hard during all these wedding festivities.

I like the idea od the bouquet charms, I plan to do the same with pictures of my grandmother and grandfather. Kim Kardashian had a piece of one of her father’s shirts sewn to the inside of her wedding dress so that she could have him walk down the aisle with her and be close to her heart.

I have an idea– I know a lot of bouquets are wrapped with ribbon, perhaps you could use one of his ties (especially one you may particularly remember or one you gave to him.)

In addition to the great ideas already suggested, you could have a memorial candle on the altar. My brother died a year and a half before the wedding, and two of my grandparents and one of DH’s grandparents had died, so we had a memorial candle with a poem and their names printed on it. We also had it in the wedding program.

Sorry for your loss! I’ve lost quite a few meaningful family members pass before I was married, and I set up a table with a memorial poem, with a candle and place card for each member that DH and I have lost. Our DJ commented that it was the most moving memorial he’s seen in the 20+years he’s been a DJ. We chose a candle for each person instead of a picture because we wanted to make sure this was a joyous occasion, and not bring back too many tearful memories. I also like the locket idea!

I am going to buy some vintage looking frames and have some pics of my and my FH deceased grand parents wedding photos.. the bouquet idea is cute and sewing a piece of his clothing on the inside of your dress is a good Idea I would sew it close to the heart
