A cousin of mine got married and his wife gave a little speech at the ceremony to his daughter and a little ring with her birthstone in it.  She was 9, a little older but I saw her over christmas and she’s 14 and still wearing that ring.

I’m interested in this as well. What I was thinking of was doing a sand ceremony instead of the traditional unity candle.  My son and his daugter can pour the sand into the container followed by Fiance and me.  I think that will really give the symbolism of the blending of our individual selves into a family.

I like the idea HisIrishPrincess has as well – that is a great option to consider.
