We got married at City Hall, so no dogs allowed. Otherwise, we would have probably had them be our ring bearers. Our two dogs are basically our kids. I LOVE your bostons – they have adorable faces πŸ™‚ Anyway, after we got married, we took some photos back at our house and were able to get some with our dogs. I have no idea HOW it happened, but our dogs were super well behaved. At first they were excited by the photogs, but that died down after like, one minute (usually they’re excited much longer). We got a ton of photos with them, so that made me happy

@FortiesFlare:  I recently won a photo shoot with a pet photographer at a charity auction and am thinking of getting some shots in my wedding dress with my dog (obviously after the wedding!).  Who knows if I’ll do anything with the pictures, but I think it’ll be fun…kind of like a trash the dress shoot, but with (hopefully) less trashing.  Maybe you could do some thing similar with your big guy?

@loveandapitbull:  That’s actually a great idea. I think I might really like something like that. And even just to get a few more pictures of my fi, our son and I together (and our dog!) just as a family. That might be fun!

I wish I could have our little Lily bun be physically in our wedding, but our venue doesn’t allow outside animals!  As it is, our wedding is extremely bunny-themed.  The plan is that he will be in the hotel for getting ready pics at least.  Our invitations had bunnies on them, our cake topper is a bunny, we’ll have bunny ears and a bunny puppet for photobooth props, our favors are candies with bunny faces on them, I made little do not disturb bunny signs, my hotel ring holder is a bunny, we have little model bunnies for decor… lots of bunnies!!!  He was also in our engagement pictures πŸ™‚

I would LOVE to! But our dog has… issues.

“Oh look, this puppy is a quarter Arctic Wolf! How cool is that? We should get this one!”
“I don’t know, he’s also half huskey. Huskey’s are known to be a handful. Plus with the wild animal bred into him too?”
“We can handle it!”

So naive.

It’s like having Marley on steroids.

He’s still a 2 year old puppy though, so I give him some slack. But yeah. If anyone is ever thinking about getting a dog that has a little bit of wolf in them.. Don’t do it… For the love of god.. Just don’t! I’ve had dogs all my life, no problem. This one, stubborn as a mule, endless energy, runs away any chance he gets, dominant, is huge, never leaves our super old cat alone, is rough, can’t be left out of his kennel if we’re not there, and is in no way looking for his masters approval. Oy vey. It’s a good thing he’s cute as all get out. We love him, and are determined to keep him his entire life, because honestly, I don’t know if anyone else could handle him, or have the desire to handle him. And we’ve gotten super attached to him. He’s just bad bad bad.. haha it’s sort of our on going joke that he’s such a terror.

We are def having my Bichon participate in the ceremony. I want him to wear some kind of festive outfit.. πŸ™‚ He is a diabetic, and no one else but my family administers his shot, so he will need to stay at our venue. After the ceremony, we plan on having a doggy sitter and having them stay in the bridal suite with him until it’s time to go home.

I also saw this on Pinterest and I MUST have it!

Yup!  Our dog was the real star of our wedding πŸ™‚  He’s a rescue so he’s shy around people, which just means he is quiet and stays close, so that actually worked out pretty well.

Getting ready:

At the ceremony (MIL was holding him and he popped his head up at just the right moment and our amazing photographer happened to get it just right!)

Reception:

cake Topper:

He sat under our table at the reception (and loved the chicken I slipped him- I NEVER feed him from the table, but this was a special occasion πŸ™‚  During our first dance, Darling Husband was surprised by how long 3 minutues of awkward swaying felt.  So mid-dance, he suggest that I pick up our dog.  The photo of the 2 of us dancing with our pup is one of my favorites of the day πŸ™‚
