i think that consignment dress would look amazing with a fun belt or something from etsy. they have some amazing sashes that you could add to that dress and make it special, without having to spend all the extra money and get a new dress. good luck!

they even have sashes with flowers on them that look really similar to the WHBM dress.

I agree with the girls…U should add to the dress if the problem it’s too plain..But if u don’t like it at all & u feeling in ur heart then go buy urself a dress that u love…A dress that u can’t stop looking at it…Remember iT’S UR DAY!!!

I actually like the consignment dress a lot…more than the mermaid dress. For the hem, I would actually add lace and skip the alterations. Or add a ruffle, it will make it a little more interesting.
Plus I love what Loribeth suggested with the flowers!
For less than $100 you can completely remake the look of the dress to be personal to you. I am a seamstress and I can tell you that there is no satisfaction like customizing your dresses to fit your personal style.
Don’t lose hope!

Update: After lots of thinking, I’ve decided to order and try the WHBM dress. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll just return it and eat the shipping costs. It’s better than being left wondering if it could have been The Dress.
I signed up for their email list and their Black Book club, which gave me 15% off the price. That made my decision a lot easier!
Here’s hoping it fits!!
Thanks for going to the trouble of photoshopping the dress for me. I do like your photoshopped version better!
And thanks to all the bees who have given their advice, opinions, and encouragement. I really appreciate every response.
Haha, we’re totally in the same predicament! In hindsight I should have set my budget a little higher in the first place and given myself more options. Penny rich, pound foolish. 🙁
