Hi Bees! I’ve posted about this before, but back in February I got a very formal gown that everyone else loved, but never really felt like “me.” Once we cancelled our wedding and decided to elope, I realized I need a wedding dress that truly represents who I am. I’ve since found a slew of dresses I like but are all different and would love some feedback.
My wedding is going to be outside in Seattle in June. June is a crapshoot so it could be sunny and warm or it could be 50 and drizzling and there’s really no way to know. I’m getting married in a garden by these really beautiful locks so we’ll be taking pictures on a bridge and around the water, plus floral pictures. After that, we’re getting a ride down the road and getting burgers at a super casual restaurant where we had our first date then we’ll be going around town taking pictures in the area. It’s very casual and lowkey and it’s just the two of us so I really don’t want anything OTT or fancy. BUT I do want to feel beautiful and comfortable.
I should add that I’m 5’2, 100 pounds. Super fair skinned and lithe. I don’t want to be overwhelmed by my dress but I also don’t want to look like a stick figure.
Without further ado, here are the dresses:
I just found this one online a little while ago. I’m not a huge strapless fan, but the simplicty of the fabric is really speaking to me:
I tried this one on and loooooooooooooooooooooved it. It’s so beautiful and simple. My one concern is the neckline. It’s a little low cut and I don’t normally like spaghetti straps:
I like this one because it’s similar to the last one but with a sturdier neckline. I like the Graecian elements and that it’s lacy and soft. Very ethereal and perfect for an outfoor wedding:
I also just found this one. My original plan had been to find a dress with 3/4 length sleeves since I’m always cold. It’s a little more formal than I’d envisioned, but I love the flowers and thing that the cut keeps it from being too uptight. It’s currently my second favorite after Heritage:
I apologize for all the links!

They’re all beautiful, but I love the third one best! It’s so ethereal and romantic!

It’s hard to say without seeing them on, but I like the third the best, and the second one next. Both beautiful! I’m not a fan of the last one, like you said, it seems very formal for an outdoor wedding followed by burgers + drinks.

I love the 2nd and 3rd one!! I tried on the 3rd one while I was dress shopping. Really liked it but decided the color was too dark. Not sure if that will bother you?
I think it says a lot that you tried on the 2nd one and loved it. It all depends on how you feel with it on and how it fits! I’d say go with the 2nd one unless there’s some way for you to try on the 3rd one before you can decide.

I agree with PPs. 2nd and 3rd are both very lovely. Whatever you feel like picking.

I love 2 and 3 best as well! I’m not a fan of the style of number 1 as I just can’t imagine it looking that great on many people! Number 4 is pretty too but I am still voting 2 & 3

I like number two best, then number three. Number two was just plain gorgeous, and if I had seen it time for my wedding…!
The first one doesn’t look very reliable, like it would fall off or at least feel like it was going to.

I think I like #3 best for your wedding. It’s gorgeous and the lace makes it kind of casual. I also like #4 but I guess it’s a little more formal. I would want to try that style on before committing also since it looks more structured. #2 is pretty but I would want to see it in person first because it looks like the fabric could pill. #1 isn’t my style–don’t like the no waist and feels more grecian than wedding.

Thank you all! It’s between 3 and 4 for me now. I loved 2, but I really don’t think I’d be comfortable showing so much skin. I rarely wear sleeveless outfits, I’m very much a cardigan over a t shirt kind of girl. I’m also worried I’d be cold in a sleeveless gown. I wish I could try on 4 before buying it!

My favorite is #4- it’s special enough and not over the top. And it’ll photograph really well in the garden with the flowers. You could get a wrap if you went with #3, if the weather is cool. You have some great options, good luck!

I LOVE number four. Three would be my second favorite though.
