So… While I’ve loved my e-ring which has a thicker shank than what’s the current trend, I cannot shake the feeling that pairing it with the band we originally got just doesn’t look “right.” We were pressed for time in choosing our bands, and I was trying so hard to match the small pave diamonds on my e-ring and also have it in 18kt gold, like my e-ring. I ultimately went with a thinner wedding band too because I felt my e-ring was already 4mm wide, and I thought my set would be too thick otherwise.
Well, I’m over matching the diamond size, the gold, etc. The nagging sense that it didn’t look right has bugged me for months(!!!) so I mentioned it to my wonderful husband – he asked me to make it “right” by finding a new band if I want. DH wants me to totally love my rings. I’ve been trying on some different bands… and I’m finally down to the final options! Please, I need your help with my decision – do I…
1) Stay with the original 18kt .20ct diamond band:
2) Switch to the 14kt .25ct diamond contour twist band:
3) Switch to the 14kt .50ct diamond contour band:
4) Keep looking… (please give me suggestions!):
Sorry these pics don’t look the greatest – my ring really is bright and sparkly. Also, I have to say, I do have a favorite so far, but I’ll share it once the poll gets some results… Thanks Bees – and vote away!

I loovvvveeee the twist band! I think it complements your e-ring beautifully.

IMO, #1 all the way. No questions.

@stonewell: I didn’t vote because I was torn between 1 and 2, but I definitely wouldn’t go with #3. But that’s my preference. 🙂

I love what you already have the best – far and away, no questions asked!
I’ve seen that contour twist band on this site a lot, and I personally don’t like it (no offense to anyone that has it). It doesn’t go with your e-ring at all.
#3 is OK, but I think it competes with your e-ring.

Definitely number 1. The others are too thick. They don’t have to match to complement each other.

Your original!!! Hands down it really compliments your ERing. Gorgeous

Well, if that isn’t a clear response! lol. It appears most everyone thinks I should leave well enough alone, and stay with my original band. I’m curious though, is it because it looks better with my e-ring, or is it for sentimental reasons, because it’s the band I had when I got married?
I have to say I’m surprised more Bees didn’t push for the bigger band, since I often see lots of encouragement to go for the bling! 😉
I’m still holding out on which one I’m leaning towards – would love to see more feedback!

@stonewell: I love the original!

@stonewell: I said #1 because In My Humble Opinion, it looks best with your e-ring.
Edited to add, it sounds like you don’t like the original so you should change it to what you want.
Bigger isn’t always better.

I like your original band better because it doesn’t overshadow the engagement ring. It compliments it perfectly and makes the whole piece look really good.
The others are a tad bulky for my personal taste. They are gorgeous, don’t get me wrong…but #1 took the cake for me.

I think I would like #1 but with larger size diamonds that are more the exact size of your ering. The square halo is so interesting I would like to see you stick with that design element in the band, maybe take away the gap. Any of the choices are really pretty,though!

I don’t have any specific suggestions for you but I am just not a fan of curved bands at all. If I had to choose between 1, 2, & 3, 1 looks the best…but I think a straight band would look the best. It’s a separate ring so why not let it stand alone instead of curving into the ering, trying to be a part of it. It’s just my own personal preference with curved rings.

i think your original band looks the best of all 3 options.
