I’m planning to get married in Ireland next May, and even though its early summer, thereis always the potential for it to get a bit chilly outside, especially in the evenings. So I figure I’ll need a coverup at some stage. My fiancee is Indian and I was considering getting an indian silk scarf that I can drape around my shoulders. Maybe something like this
As you can see I haven’t decided on any colour palette yet.
The problem is my dress looks like this
and I’m not sure whether it would just look weird. Opinions appreciated!

@aliciaspinnet: I don’t think that they would really add much warmth.
I could imagine your dress with a faux fur bolero

A Faux fur bolero would be lovely but too much for Ireland in the summertime I think, at least during the day. The weather in Ireland is mild, but changeable, and very prone to rain. Average May Temp would be up to 15C. If I was a winter bride I would definately go with the faux fur.

@aliciaspinnet: I think that would look just fine! Your dress is fairly clean-lined, which would work well with the shawl. The second one is beautiful!

I think it would look lovely, but I’d look for one that’s more formal than the ones you’ve posted. Beaded, sari-like, etc. I bet you could find one in a lighter color with beautiful beading.
