(Closed) Indianapolis wedding license

Hey Hoosiers,

So it looks like Indianapolsi no longer does Justice of the Peace/courthouse weddings.

Fiance and I are nonreligious, and I’m not sure how to go about finding a clerk to sign it. There’s are a few websites for same day weddings, but 100$ seems expensive to have a stranger essentially sign paperwork.

I’d love to have a close friend solemnize our vows, How does a person become an officiant for the marriage license in IN?

Right, and I had read the judges ruling, which suggests having notaries as officiants. I guess I don’t know what a “secular celebrant” means. Legally, can this be any person?  Or is it only humanists? I don’t want anyone to commit perjury nor have our marriage invalid. I guess I’ll ask at the courthouse when we go pick it up and sign it!
