I LOVE this playlist so far…I’m just going to have to scroll through my iPod for some ideas for you.  I do not know how slow or soft you want go but here’s a few.

And Then You – Greg Laswell

A Drop in the Ocean – Ron Pope

Fly Me to the Moon (In Other Words) – Frank Sinatra (CLASSIC!)

I see what else I can find!!!

Yeah my Fiance and I are dancing to Fly Me to the Moon as our first dance.  He wants to take classes and learn a simple foxtrot or something to surprise everyone.  I’m a former dacer and he has 2 left feet!

Hi Kristen,

Definitely some good choices. I’ve found a website with some great longer lists of potential indie wedding music that you might be able to use: http://www.discjockeynyc.com/indie_wedding_music/. In case you are still looking for a first dance song, I have a blog post with a short list with my favorite indie first dance ideas that you can check out here: [link removed].

Hope you find some more great tracks!

We incorporated lots of indie/lesser known artists into our wedding.  This was our set list!

Parents/G’Parents Processional: ‘How Deep Is Your Love’- The Bird and the Bee

Bridal Party Processional: ‘Somwhere Only We Know’- Keane

Bride Walk Down the Aisle: ‘Honey and the Moon’- Joseph Arthur

Parent’s Affirmation: ‘Turtle’- Alana Davis

Recessional: ‘Walking On A Dream’- Empire Of The Sun

Bridal Party Announced: ‘Sweet Disposition’- Temper Trap

Bride/Groom Announced: ‘Somebody’s Baby’- Jackson Browne (c’mon- we’re in our 30’s…)

Cake Cutting: ‘Ice Cream’- Sarah McLachlan

First Dance: ‘Little Heaven’- Toad The Wet Sprocket

The day was perfect… I’m even making the entire bridal party CD’s of the music along with their thank you notes.  😀

I recently went to the wedding where the bride walked down the aisle to Sea of Love by Cat Powers. It was the perfect song for a beautiful moment and we were all in tears!
