Look into Mixing Maryland – they are somewhat young, but our DJ is an actual DJ and even plays shows/festivals when he’s not doing weddings.  We gave them a couple of examples of what music we liked and they totally understood what direction and feel we wanted.  And most importantly, they aren’t super cheesy!

So the DJ we picked is kind of a mix. He is a huge music guy and was able to pull some really obscure stuff. I don’t know if he is 100% what you are looking for (if you are still looking) but he is really, really nice and when we met with him we spent like 2 hrs sitting around, listening to music and just chatting.
