I’ve read so many Weddingbee posts about this topic but I still haven’t found my perfect music! I’m really looking for unique/untraditional songs as my processional music.
I think this would be a perfect song for my bridal party to walk down to, but I want a new song for my processional. I want them to be similar but if there’s really nothing close to that, I’m open to other suggestions.
I’m mostly looking for instrumental, uplifting songs. A little more inspirational than “I Love NYE” so it’s obvious that it’s the bride’s processional.
I’ll list some songs that i’ve seen that I DO NOT want:
The Book of Love by Magnetic Fields, Anything by String Quartet or Band of Horses, Hold You in my Arms, Home by Edward Sharp, Go Do by Jonsi (mainly because there’s so much singing) Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros…
I know this is really specific and I’m being really picky, so sorry haha! I’d just love it to be perfect. π
I don’t know how much you care about lyrics. I like “Lover of the Light” by Mumford and Sons, though really only the chorus might make sense for a wedding. If I wasn’t using instrumental music for our ceremony, I might walk down the aisle to it π
I love the Lumineers, but their music doesn’t really match, “I Love NYE.” I’m looking for instrumental music, like maybe from other movie soundtracks. I just can’t think of any happy movie music, other than We Bought A Zoo, which is really close to what I’m looking for. “Lover of the Light” has too much singing, haha.
@jlschueler: We are using “Married Life” as our recessional song! I think it’s so happy and sweet and we both love “Up” so much. Plus, I mean, the title is perfect in itself! π
@rachelb44: I love “Married Life” and Up! This is a great choice, and I might have to steal it. That’s exactly that kind of music I’ve been looking for — happy, light and sweet. π
Reign of Love by Coldplay has a similar feel. I know this is late, but I also am posting for other brides who need help. I am using the I love NYE as my processional, and I am pretty sure I’ll be using Coldplay (whether instrumental or not I haven’t decided yet) as the bridal party’s processional.
