What about other music by Edward Sharpe etc?  Mumford and Sons?  The Lumineers?  Does it matter that the lyrics might not match the tone of a wedding?

I don’t know how much you care about lyrics. I like “Lover of the Light” by Mumford and Sons, though really only the chorus might make sense for a wedding. If I wasn’t using instrumental music for our ceremony, I might walk down the aisle to it ๐Ÿ™‚

I have been trying to get an instrumental/string arrangement of The Monitor by Bishop Allen.

Detroit Cobras’ cover of Out of This World would be a good recessional, and might work for a processional, too, if you’re punk enough.

Beach House – Real Love

Iron and Wine – Lion’s Mane (I’d love to use Resurrection Fern if it weren’t a bit….risque.)

Ben Lee – Gamble Everything for Love

Air – You Make It Easy

Ghost Mice – Boy Meets Girl

Cocteau Twins – Ivo

I know you’ve picked your song already, but I had the same issue, and thought I’d offer some other options for other brides who stumble across this.

Your Hand in Mine by Explosions in the Sky (we’re using pre ceremony)

Married Life (Up Soundtrack)

Rumpus Reprise (Where the Wild Things are soundtrack)

Cherry Tree Girl by Air (we’re using the pickin on cover which is just instrumental)

Some Summers They Drop Like Flies-Dirty Three

@jlschueler:  We are using “Married Life” as our recessional song! I think it’s so happy and sweet and we both love “Up” so much. Plus, I mean, the title is perfect in itself! ๐Ÿ™‚

I heard the song “till kingdom come” by Coldplay in The Amazing Spiderman and fell in love with it!

@rachelb44:  I love “Married Life” and Up! This is a great choice, and I might have to steal it. That’s exactly that kind of music I’ve been looking for — happy, light and sweet. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am walking down the aisle to Summer Dust by The Love Language. The Love Language is pretty indie/lo-fi, and Summer Dust is my favorite song by them.

Reign of Love by Coldplay has a similar feel.  I know this is late, but I also am posting for other brides who need help.  I am using the I love NYE as my processional, and I am pretty sure I’ll be using Coldplay (whether instrumental or not I haven’t decided yet) as the bridal party’s processional.
