- Wedding: June 2013
My Fiance and I decided to have our ceremony at our reception venue. We were looking at other outdoor venues but we can save a whole lot of money with just staying on local (no rental fees of seats) The venue has 3 locations possible:
The only problem with this area is that theres a restaurant in the room next to it and it’s not soundproof…so the restaurant will either be noisy or we will have no privacy for something so special
2) beside the building there is a rock patio…very pretty and it has 2 levels so the wedding party will be standing on somewhat of a stage made of stone (sorry no pics).
Downside is that it’s right beside a road that could potentially be busy…so cars may be heard passing by.
3) the ballroom
This seems to be our only option. So I guess this is our only option. So the plan is to block off half the ballroom and to have chairs and a platform set up on one side of the room . Our ceremony will be held, and then the room will be transformed into a reception.
Issues: I feel like the room is kind of dark, I like it for the reception but not the ceremony. I could open all the windows but the view isn’t great.
I desperately need ideas on how to decorate and make the room brighter and airy and to make it look like a well thought out ceremony instead of thrown together.
Sometimes I have ceremony venue regret as maybe I should have spend the money to get a great outdoor view but the invites are in and what is done is done.
