for a reasonably priced caterer (not necessarily specializing in Chinese food), i’ve heard really great things about Yen Ngo from Real Food catering.  she does weddings of about 150 or more people, i think.

as for chinese food, do you have any favorite chinese food restaurants in manhattan or the boroughs that you could call?  one that comes to mind is Perfect Team Corporation in flushing (i know, odd name: 718.888.9996). i’ve had dim sum there and it’s really good.

if you search chowhound.com for chinese restaurants, i’m sure it would turn up something that could give ideas as to restaurants that you could call, and ask if they do catering.

good luck!

Any updates on Yen as a cateror or other good chinese caterors? I’d be curious as well to hear the feedback!

Thanks!

Hi!

I used Yen for my wedding in June and she was fabulous!! We did a cocktail hour and stations with her — and I had a “Chinatown” themed table. She made the most delish Peking duck-style buns, and pork ribs…mmm..so good! She was quite reasonable for all that she did for us, which included all the service and rentals. I would DEFINITELY check her out. I don’t know what your budget is, but she was vry very willing to work with mine,a dn was always trying to find ways to cut down on cosst without compromising quality.
