Hi ladies! I have started looking for a venue for my wedding reception – yikes weddings are expensive. I am going to have a small reception (64 guests). My budget is 5k or less. So far, Castways in Burbank seems to be within my budget. I wanted to see if there are any other places I should consider. I was considering the Sky Room in Long Beach but their rental fee and parking fees, puts me over my budget. i have been looking mostly at restaurants but I am open to inexpensive venues too. The site fee can’t be too high. venue fee plus catering can add up. Please help!

Congratulations on your engagement.
My experience has been similar to yours. I’ve been shock at the outrages prices for venues and extra fees. I am only having 50 guests and I’m also looking for a restaurant venue in Los Angeles or surrounding areas. I will continue searching and let you know =) good luck!

smile111: Thanks! Congratulations to you too! Here are some places that I was considering but there was some dealbreakers. Maybe they won’t be dealbreakers for you?
1. Maxwell House in Pasadena- You could rent their patio for $175/hour. Only downside is that you can’t have a DJ outside. You could only play coustic music (jazz trios/string quartets) outside. If you rent the house, the cost goes up.
2. Embassy Suites- Believe it or not, it’s affordable. I looked into two properties and they charge you around $44 + per person. I’m not sure if I want to have my reception at a Embassy Suite. I would like something with a view.
