I’m starting this daunting process of planning a wedding. I wanted to start a list of affordable wedding venue ideas so I can avoid even day dreaming about the expensive ones. FI and I would really like a desintation wedding, but we’re worried about key people not being able to come because of fiances. But who knows, maybe we’ll find an option thati s cheap enough that we can afford ot fly a few people out.
What kind of venue did you choose, and how expensive was it?

- Childhood Church
- Renting out local resturant
For a Destination Wedding, I was thinking about (and I will probably find some of these way too expensive)
- Renting a large home family vacation style, with a hotel nearby

- Wedding: September 2017 - Poppy Ridge Golf Course
Where are you located and what do you consider inexpensive? For us $10k or more for one day seemed a bit much. We chose a golf course setting where we’ll have ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Our guest list is 40 max, we wanted an intimate wedding with family and close friends only. The package we chose is $99 pp and our wedding is on a weekday so $5572 after fees and taxes compared to $13k for Friday/Saturday. There was a Sunday brunch option Fiance recently inquired about (although when I first mentioned this option weeks ago he wasnt hearing me) thats $3960 but doesn’t include all the extras from what we chose. I think its important to decide how many ppl you want to attend, what type of location, a maximun budget and what you absolutely can’t do without. Like I’m not a crafty DIY person at ALL but I admire those who are. I needed basically everything taken care of including the decor. When we briefly looked into destination weddings there were a couple packages for around $2500 that included up to 12 guests or it was completely free with a minimum 7 night stay so that might be something to consider.

DWs can be cheaper but you need to be ready that some people will not be able to come.
I think we will end up saving because our location is just generally cheaper compared to Australia. These are the prices we have so far:
Venue plus dinner for 50 is AU$3500 with a lot of extras (beach resort)
Event styling including flowers (church, reception and bridal party) – AU$2100
Full service coordinator – AU$850

My ceremony venue is a state park that’s also a rose garden, it’s free:
I’m doing the reception just four blocks away at an indoor/outdoor area. It’s $1000 for a 3 day package (rehearsal dinner / set up day (5hrs), all day for the wedding, clean up day (5hrs) but we could have gotten a one day package for $600.

We are getting married on the beach the 27th of this month, it’s a 3 day event. We rented cabins at an rv resort and their clubhouse is only $50 a day. We are only paying for a few people’s cabins, (fi’s mom and grandma) everyone else will pay their own accommodations. It’s 3 hrs from us so it will be a bit like a destination wedding. We are self catering and usung diy decorations and flowers.

I’ve got a gorgeous historic home as my venue. Saturday weddings cost $3800 just for the venue rental there. I went for a Monday (after checking with VIP’s) and got the venue rental for $900. We’re also keeping the guest list small to 30 people. Our budget is $5000 and we’re on track so far!!!

I used a voucher deal (wowcher or groupon, can’t remember which. I’m in the uk) which seems to work out under half normal price for a package deal (venue, linen, food, coordinator) then got add ins seperately. Photography was through a site called bidvine (£250 for 10 hours, £1000 seems typical. Booking with 4 months to go may have helped- several photographers bid, I suppose they had a free day so offered a lower price to fill space. Looked at the portfolios and picked the best). I hired decor on eBay, me and my 8 year old daughter set up, and we bought flowers from the local flower market and sited them the night before. All in we spent £2800 for 80 people, where normal cost was around £7000.
