Thanks!!  Now let’s hope it helps me ovulate!  Still have about 9 lbs to go.

Oh, and my new Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor should be coming in the mail any day now!

@heathaah:double yay!  and, maybe loosing the weight will be what it takes!  ๐Ÿ˜€  Sure can’t hurt!

I’ve always heard loosing the weight is one thing, but keeping it off is something else entirely! (something about not keeping up the exercising and healthy eating and habits after you loose the weight….)

But I’ve got faith you will not only loose all the weight you want, and then some! but you’ll keep it off, too!!!!

Hi, everyone! Back from Key West! Vacation started off HORRIBLY as my dog was diagnosed with Auto Immune Disease the Wed. afternoon, right before leaving for our vacation. I took him in because he was lethargic and not eating. (Did NOT think it was anything major!!!) The vet told me he had hardly any red blood left and he was close to a blood transfusion and/or death. It was just awful. I started sobbing and called my hubby who drove right over to the vet office. She gave him steriods and said it would be a “wait and see”. We went home and I called my mom over to tell her. She said she’d take off work Thur/Fri to be with him and stay until Monday night and take care of him.

We left at 4am Thursday morning with me kissing my pup goodbye, thinking I may never see him again. It truly was just awful. My husband and I were actually torn on whether to go or not. It was a very difficult decision. But it worked out because he is better now!! My mom took him back to the vet Friday and his numbers had gone way up! The vet was ecstatic and so pleased! I take him back tonight for another blood test. Cross your fingers!!!!

Our trip was amazing, though! I saw a 4 ft. nurse shark while snorkeling on Sunday! What a rush. I was a little scared and freaked out a bit. lol We snorkeled every day and had fun in Key West each night. Great food, drinks, etc. It was a fantastic vacation.

AND we did NOT talk about IVF or infertility at all!!! Not once! Just the break we needed! (Minus being so scared about our dog at first) Now, we will see the doctor next week and hopefully start IVF in the next month or two! I’m nervous, scared, anxious and excited about it. So many emotions.

@Zinzerena: Well, we just got back from the IUI, and she said that it was normal to have a short LH surge.  Fingers crossed!

@mrswhit3: Hope your IUI went well. Good luck for the TWW.

And for all, do any of you participate in an infertility support group (besides our wonderful little group)? I was thinking about an in-person support group. Or do you subscribe to any infertility listservs or anything. I’m really struggling. I deal with depression and anxiety normally, but with all of this infertility and recent BFN after our first IUI I’m struggling to get out of bed and show up to work. Every few hours I start crying. I don’t know what to do. I see a therapist, but I feel like I need something more specifically tailored to infertility. Any advice?

@mrswhit3: yay!!!! fingers crossed for you!!!!!

….and still no sign of AF.  So, testing with our last cheapo test tomorrow.  If negative, we test again Friday with a better test (any suggestions????) if AF hasn’t shown up by then, either.

*sigh* I soooo don’t wanna deal with another m/c like we did last year.  Not only did it suck majorly on being sick and miserable, but it’s a HUGE downer.  ๐Ÿ™  (paranoid? yes. scared? very.)

Hi ladies,

I’m sad to be posting here but it is nice to have read many of the back posts and see what a supportive group of girls you are to each other.

I got married last August (yay!).  I went off the BCP on our honeymoon and we started officially TTC in October.  I found out I was PG in mid-December and had an early m/c on New Year’s Eve Cry We were/are heartbroken.

We took a cycle off and started again in February.  I was fully expecting to “be more fertile after a m/c” but I’m now on cycle 8 with no luck.  I started to see an RE at cycle 6 after the m/c and through tests and u/s it was determined that I have low ovarian reserve (I’m 35 and my DH is 42).  I was devastated.  But we have a plan in place.  We’ll try two IUIs with Letrozole.  If those don’t work, I’ll do two or three IUI cycles with injectibles and if those don’t work we’ll pull out the big guns – IVF.

I’m scheduled for my first IUI in a couple of weeks.  I went in for my baseline U/S this morning and I start to take Letrozole this evening.  I’m scared to be hopeful because I want this so much but I’m trying to remain positive so I’m hopeful that it will work.

I’m trying to take this whole experience cycle-by-cycle/day-by-day…Have any of you had positive experiences with IUI that you can share?  What is it like to take Letrozole?  Would you recommend we skip IUI if it doesn’t work and head straight to IVF?  I’m so scared my eggs are going to continue to “age” and we’ll miss out completely.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to getting to know you!

@1littlep: welcome to the group, and sorry you’ve gotta be here.   Sorry to hear about the m/c ๐Ÿ™

I had a m/c last year in June (more or less through) august. Long story short, the m/c was in June, wasn’t complete, and it became infected in August.  It.SUCKED.  No positive pregnancy tests AT ALL.  I will say that I love antibiotics, though, lol.

So far, we haven’t had any luck getting pregnant and June was our last month for trying until AFTER the wedding.  So we can jump straight into testing once the wedding is over.

I have two kids (a son that’ll be 9 in oct. and a daughter that just turned 5) and had no trouble getting pregnant with them.  In fact, we can/could pin-point the exact date (and time, pretty much) they were concieved, which helps in the “not waiting till one year” issue.

I’ve been keeping track of getting postive OPK’s and when AF is supposed to show & does show and I’m currently 2 days past AF’s scheduled arrival date.  NO positve tests, either, damn it.  I’ll be testing tomorrow with our last cheapy test if AF doesn’t arrive.

As for IUI success, I know rosiegirl JUST got a positive pregnancy test at 15dpiui (I think?) so she’s had luck but this was NOT her first round (I could be very wrong on that…).  Yes, my brian IS that fried ๐Ÿ˜›

@mrswhit3: Good luck with the IUI. Hope this is your first and only. Interesting about the Estrace. I start clomid next month and was concerned about lining issues r/t the med. Nice to know there is a way to correct it.

@Ms Mini:I have no clue how to chart that. Those are crazy shifts. Check out the fertility friend website maybe they have some info. I’m not sure if there is anything in TCOYF. Good luck

@1littlep: So sorry for your loss. I have not done IUI myself but have friends who have with great success. I like your outlook about taking things cycle by cycle. Welcome to our little group.

We our back from out long weekend at my parents. It was great and way cooler than here. I come from a small town in Nor Cal. that has a huge 4th of July and EVERYONE goes home. We ran into alot of my friends and everyone was pregnant or had little babies. Please please please let it be us next year. We did have a great time. Next thurs is my first accupuncture. I am starting my final pack of bcp before we start clomid. Heres hoping. I missed you girls, hope you all had a great long weekend.

@waitingbee: Honestly, I haven’t been too thrilled with the Estrace…but I’m thinking it may be due to the dosage. I’ve only been at 1 mg, taken vaginally, 1x/day. My lining was only 5.8 on Saturday…so I’m hoping it was at least a 6 when we did the IUI today. I’ll let you know what happens!

@1littlep: I have done…okay with the letrozole. My first month was a breeze, and I had a big follie on the left, (ended up getting a BFP that cycle but lost it at 5 weeks). We tried again last month on the same dosage (5mg), but I had NO follies and a crappy lining.  This month, we upped the dose to 7.5 mg, but I still only had one follie, (20ishmm) and my lining still sucked at 6mm, tops.  They did the IUI this morning, though, so I guess it was “good enough!”

@1littlep:  It sounds like you are dealing with much the same situation as me. I was recently diagnosed with low ovarian reserve. It came as a shock to me. My cycles were  a little short (24-26 days) but very regular. I’m still kind of reeling from it all. We just finished our first IUI cycle after a round of clomid. I tested yesterday and got a negative result. Our plan is to start injectables either this month or next (depends on if I have any cysts left from the clomid cycle). I think my doctor wants to do a few injectable cycles before going to IVF, but much like you I’m afraid I’m losing eggs with each passing day. My DH wonders if it would be better for my sanity to jump to IVF. I don’t have an answer yet. I’ll probably do one cycle of injectables and see how I respond and go from there. It’s all very scary.
