Wow, 2 days without a post. How is everyone doing?

I just have no where else to my exciting news– I have really good, strechy EWCM!! It’s never been this good. I always got just a little bit that barely streched 1-1.5 inches.

I was a little worried this cycle because my CBEFM didn’t go from low to high until CD13 (usually it was around CD8). I figured I would be at high for about 5 days, so no O until day 18 or so. But I was only on high for 2 days and today I peaked (CD15).

I have never seen such beautiful EWCM!!! I started taking guaifenesin (I take it in pill form Mucinex, but you can take it in a syrup Robitussin) a few days ago. And I’m sure the chinese herbs are helping too.

I hope everyone is in a good place mentally. I’ve recently started saying a mantra that I hope will keep me from going to the dark side. I know for me, mentally I was thinking “I’m 41, my body can’t get KU, this is close to impossible”. I just didn’t trust my body to be able to do this. So now when I’m falling asleep or just feel my mind wander to those defeating thoughts, I think about myself on a mountain top yelling at the top of my lungs “I’m 41 and I trust my body to conceive and grow a take home baby!!!”

What do you say to yourself to get you through the tough spots?

@KoiKove:  Congrats on the EWCM!  That’s fantastic!

I actually took a graphic from the TTC inspiration thread and it’s my screen saver on my phone : always believe that something wonderful is about to happen.  I also tell myself (several times a day) that this is all working out EXACTLY how it’s supposed to be.  Even if I don’t see and and disagree, there is a plan in place and it’s unfolding how it should be.

@KoiKove:  That is fantastic news – way to go Egg White CM!!!! πŸ™‚

I got my crosshairs today, so I’m 3DPO if I go by fertility friend. I O-ed at CD21. Now, I’m waiting to see what comes first – AF or IVF appt next Thursday. Fingers are crossed!

I’m feeling positive at the moment, which is nice. Especially after the recent negative vibes I’ve had lately. πŸ™‚

@KoiKove:  Congrats on EWCM.

Turning 42 this month, I sometimes want to scream, “Not Fair Damnmit!!!!”  But I know that I will be a mother so I’m just rolling w/ it.  I’ve already met w/ my RE and plan to go the IVF route.  Don’t want to but it is what it is.  That is what I love being over 40.  I’m a tad more accepting of life’s waves.:)

So, I’m in my TWW.  Just had my 2nd estrogen surge.  Will know if we finally KU the week of my bday.  If not, off to my 2nd HSG and SA for DH.

@jaguar:  Trust me when I tell you that you will be just FINE with the IVF needles. πŸ™‚  I hated needles and now I’m an old pro. The inital shots are soooo tiny and you don’t feel much at all. The big progesterone shots come later (at embryo transfer time) and by then you’ll be used to the few weeks of the smaller ones. They’ll help gradually prepare you for the progesterone shots. πŸ™‚  I’ve been on the progesterone shots for about 7 weeks now and found out today that I can finally stop them in a few days. Yay!  But seriously, you’ll be fine. So, so many women who hate needles have not only survived the IVF needles, but said it wasn’t so bad. Me included. πŸ™‚

Had my 9th week ultrasound today and Baby P is still growing and still has a great heartbeat.

Thinking of you all and rooting for each one of you!!

@Jenn23:  Yay! I’m glad you’re almost finished with your shots. πŸ™‚

It’s funny, I’m nervous about them – but I am not letting it freak me out too much. It’s a means to an end, and I am SO looking forward to this whole upcoming cycle, even if it IS going to take for-freaking-ever to come around. I figure the more positive I look at it, hopefully the more positive my body feels about accepting everything? I dunno. It makes sense in my mind.

Yay, Baby P. Did you see much on your u/s? I am so happy for you!

@jaguar:  I know it seems like awhile, but trust me, once you start the IVF cycle, time will fly by! Before you know it, you are doing the daily injections, lots of dr visits and then the egg retrieval and transfer!! Once you get started it will just fly by! Yep, try not to think about the needles. Is your DH comfortable with the idea of giving you the injections? Will you have an injection class? My DH and I felt much better after the training class at our fertility clinic. And there are a zillion YouTube videos (just google IVF injections) that we watched which helped immensely!

@squeak35:  What a great birthday present that would be!! Fingers crossed!! πŸ™‚

Thanks for the well wishes. I’m still super nervous about all this, but so far so good! (Minus the bleeding scare last week!) Baby P is starting to look more and more like a baby each time we see him/her on the ultrasound. And the heartbeat is strong which is great. I’m still a nervous wreck, though!

@Jenn23:

Good to know about You Tube videos for Injection help. I wouldn’t have thought to check there. My clinic also offers classes.

Cross Posted from the 6 months list.

RE called and left a message yesterday evening, saying he wanted to talk about my HSG results. Scary, I was afraid he was going to want a redo. I talked to him this morning and it he said that that my left tube had probably just spasm-ed and was not blocked as I don’t have a medical history that would seem to indicate a blockage. No way to know for sure, but we will be proceeding with treatment as if I have open tubes. I have my full appointment to discuss the next steps on the 13th.

@KoiKove:  i’m working my way through making babies. i also find it to be pretty overwhelming, which is why i’m reading it piece by piece. i have read some helpful information though, especially concerning foods/toxins. infertility cure is next up once i finish πŸ™‚

today is my fourth day of clomid and so far so good! the only “symptom” is really bad headaches 1-2 hours after taking the pill. however, it could be completely unrelated. i’ve been eating really well; no coffee/soda/caffeine, no artificial sweeteners, tons of water, etc. even DH is avoiding soda/caffeine/sweeteners! my ultrasound and blood work is 3/12, and if all looks good we’ll likely trigger the evening of the 12th and have the IUI on the 14th. i’m cautiously excited πŸ™‚

@Jenn23:  So exciting. I can’t believe how fast this has gone since your announcement. πŸ™‚ We’re going to a class next Thursday (our IVF welcome) where the nurses will explain our treatment and show us what needs to be done. Hubs is pretty comfortable with the idea of stabbing me (I joke, I joke) so that’s a plus. I think the small injections will be fine; it’s the idea of the bigger ones that grosses me out. But I’ll do just about anything for a wee one!

@mintmercury:  I don’t think I’ve read everything in both books either. I kinda skip around. I read the first couple of chapters, find my diagnosis and skip to that section. Good for you about eating better. I’ve been good too (and only cheated a few times) with the no dairy, reduced gluten diet. I could have killed a co-worker this morning who brought in fresh (still warm) bagels and cream cheese. And my hubby, who was trying to be nice, forgot about my diet and bought a slice of cheesecake for use to split. I have banned him from eating it in front of me. LOL

Ladies, can I just say that BDing when neither of you want to is just the worst! It’s one thing if you aren’t in the mood (sorta neutral) and just need a little encouragement. It’s another thing entirely when both of you just don’t want to do it. We are a little stressed because we are going to be buying a house (with all those costs) at the same time we are trying to figure out how to pay for a possible IVF. The stress is getting to us and we just needed a night in separate parts of the house. AND, he’s been coming down with a “cold” about the time the pollen started getting bad around here. But he doesn’t beleive he has allergies, so he is just miserable and grumpy. I guess that’s the upside of IUI and IVF, no contact necessary! πŸ™‚
