I am so excited for all of you starting IVF, and am praying for you all!!!

Here’s a little update:

Darling Husband had his SA done today (which I have been stressing about for a long time).  His doctor called this afternoon and he MISSED the call, and the doc left a message saying he’d  call back later (never did).  Of course I am going crazy because I just want to know the results, so I (like a crazy person) asked Darling Husband if I could listen to the voicemail to see if his tone of voice was upbeat and maybe I could tell if the results sounded positive (yes I know how this sounds lol).  So when I listened to the voicemail on speakerphone we both realize that his doctor said “this is ___ just wanted give you a call to discuss some *great* results with you.  I will try you again later.”  DH was so quick to try and call him back before, that he never listened to the whole message and didn’t hear him say GREAT!

I am beyond relieved, obviously I still have issues, but I feel like we have had so little good news throughout our journey that this was nice.  I still need the numbers and all that, but I don’t think he would say great if there were any problems.  I think this is the most positive I have felt for a while.  Maybe month 9 will be our lucky month!

I’m waitng on CD 1, anyday now as the spotting started last night. This will be my first IUI cycle and I’ll be doing Clomid and Gonal-F.

My back story:

I have a potential blocked tube, maybe a spasm, but they couldn’t get dye though one tube on the HSG. I also have a failed Clomid cycle. I’m 38 and we were NTNT from November 2010 thru March 2011. TTC since April 2011. My husband has great SA numbers. My hormone numbers are good for my age,however I am Hypothyroid but well controlled.

@jaguar:  Thanks! I know, I can’t wait either! I keep trying to convince myself that the doc wouldn’t have said “great” if anything was wrong, but I’ll feel better once I have those numbers!

@Sunshine1810:  That is fantastic news!!!!!  Hooray!!!

@jaguar:  DH and I have discussed the whole egg donation thing and decided that we’re totally ok with it.  Plus if it makes it affordable for us to be able to have our own child, then we’re definitely ok with it.  But, yes, essentially he said the first 6 are mine then they donate the rest.  He said based on my crazy high AMH I’d be a great candidate for this.

@Sunshine1810:  Great News!!! I do the same, never listen to the entire message and just call ppl back. Always gets me.

@jaguar:  If they believe your chances are great by implanting one, I wouldn’t worry.  In the US, the protocol is different but doesn’t make it better.  It honestly makes sense to limit the risk to the mother and baby if tests show that implanting one is the magic #.  It frustrates me that I have to consult several clinics to find out which would be the best practice to help us achieve our family.  And its all our to pocket.  If drug abuse is considered a disease, why isn’t infertility.(Ok, I’m off my soap box)

@kayakgirl73:  Come on AF so we can get the show on the road.  Praying for a successful IUI.

@Candy_Nee:  @squeak35:  Thanks ladies! I am excited! The doc called with the numbers and count, motility and morphology are all well above normal, so that’s great!

@Mukmuk:  Thanks!!!! 🙂

I am just happy to have a little positive news.  I am sick of the bad news.  I am so so happy, but I am kind of sad too.  I feel bad that I am “broken” and I might not be able to give Darling Husband a baby, especially where he is perfectly capable of making one.  I know that probably sounds ridiculous.  I just need to focus on being relieved! Sorry, my emotions are all over the place!

I can’t believe I have been reading this thread since it started! (Even though we weren’t officially TTC at the time).

@Sunshine1810:  Such great news! YAY!

I’m very very nervous for my follicle scan this afternoon at 3:20 EST. Getting bad news at my follie scan last cycle was awful, and I’m trying to mentally prepare myself that this one will be just as bad. I’ve hardly had any of the symptoms I usually get during a (medicaiton induced) ovulatory  cycle.

I’m going to log off now and try to write my article for work and not think about it until I leave for my appointment at 3!

@Sunshine1810:  Not ridiculous I think all of us ladies who have been diagnosed with the problem being  just on our ends (female issues) have thought the same thoughts at least once if not more. Hang in there.
