Hi Guys,

Can I join the thread????

A little background about me. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 13 and have been treated (with BCP) ever since. Met my RE at 25 and she started me on Nuvaring and Spirolactone instead of BCP to help manage mid-cycle bleeding.

In June 2011, DH and I wanted to start TTC and my RE wanted me to try au natural. I was annovulatory with around 80 day cycles.

In Sept 2011, My RE put me on met to see if that would help me to ovulate. No such luck.

After this we took a break, due to me finishing up my PhD, applying for faculty positions etc. During this time we got DH a SA, and everything came back perfect! So we are good to go in that area.

We are now ready to start trying again. On Wednesday I will be taking out my nuvaring and stopping my spirolactone. I will be taking clomid CD5-9 and my fingers are crossed that I ovulate for the first time ever in my life.

I look forward to getting to know you guys better and if you have any questions about me just let me know.

@FMM:  Welcome! I hope your stay is short and sweet. Good luck! I had never heard of spirolactone before, so I had to google it. I have to say, if it’s effective, that would be wonderful to take next time we’re not TTC. πŸ™‚

@bunny:  Thanks Bunny! I am not going to lie – I love that drug LOL! I am not looking forward to going off of it in a few days! It helps my skin stay clear and beautiful, I am way less oily (skin and hair) on it, I lost weight easily (with the met/spiro combo), I don’t have a problem with baldness but my hair is WAY thicker when I am on it. I recommend it to anyone who has higher than ideal testosterone levels (when not TTC).

@bunny:  Good luck on the weight loss project. Hopefully your clinic could get you some samples of some of your drugs? I donated my left-overs back to the clinic for that purpose. I aslo noticed that some drug copies have discounts for self-pay patients. I’ve also hard that shopping around several specialty pharmacies can lower your costs.

@FMM:  Welcome!

Working on the Provera right now, and then I’ll be on an increased dose of Clomid.  In the meantime, I’m working on getting my self back into shape and hopefully losing a few pounds.  I started yesterday with a personal trainer at my gym, and boy, I’m sore now.  Last night I started feeling the soreness in my butt muscles, and when I told DH that my butt was sore, he responded with “That’s what she said”.  Boys.

@stormy9973:  October 8th, but I have to have a scheduled C-sec one week earlier, so around Oct. 1st. Since I had the abdominal fibroid surgery and my uterus was cut in so many places, it is dangerous for me to go into labor. So hopefully, labor holds off and my scheduled c-section goes off without a hitch. πŸ™‚  I’m so happy you ovulated twice on your own. Yay! When can you start testing this month?

@mareundarum:  Boys are too funny.  I’ve told DH that I have to do my shot everyday @ the same time.  Why will he look for me throughout the house during that time?  Crazy boy
