I’m just starting to look at venues and am about to send out emails asking for more info from the places that don’t have any rental fees or other info about $$. Any advice about the questions I should be asking? Anything I should look out for?

Required caterers, kitchen fee if you use someone not on their list.
If they don’t have a preferred caterer, do they have sufficient kitchen space?
Is alcohol allowed? Do you need a liquor license?
How much is the deposit? How soon does the $$ need to be paid in full? Is the date transferrable? (we found this useful because we changed ours twice due to family conflicts!)
How many people can the venue fit? Is that max. capacity? How many does it sit COMFORTABLY?
Do they allow bands? Or just DJ’s? (Some don’t allow bands because of noise level)
Do you book multiple events per night? (Privacy/noise issue!)
